Good idea on the nurgle bases! I'll have to do that next.

OK, good tip on priming the base first before using the crackle paste. Mine always flake off. Basing tutorials are a nice way to mix up the videos. Thanks Mr. Matt.

You can also paint a layer of thinned PVA glue all over the base once the crackle paste dries, if you really want to make sure it stays put. Though I find the basecoat of grey tends to seal it pretty good. Thanks for watching Shane!

I also wash my bases! It’s really quick and you can feel the difference after washing. I don’t have any issues with crackle paste after washing, even if I don’t prime.

I do too! It's easy for me to keep doing the old brown sand with green grass. I need to change things up a bit!
@forouza13 ай бұрын
Couple tips to consider: 1. Put a drop of IPA on the small rocks/sand which will break up the surface tension and allow for your final additional of PVA glue to infiltrate all the deep crevices to seal everything in. 2. Take a ballon and rub it agains a wool sweater and hover it over the static grass, it will raise them up and make the perfectly aligned. 3. If after dry brushing the base and you don't want to get a dusty look, put some diluted wash over the base. The wash medium will knock down the dusty look.

Sweet tips, but what is IPA? Is that a paint thinner, or some other kind of surfactant?

Matt : When doing basing I prefer using Black Agrate from Vallejo and then once dry add various textrues like lava flow and snow fields. But each to his / her own I say.

But how do you glue the mini to the base afterwards? Super glue it to the painted base? Paperclips? Such a nice base I don’t want to damage it with gorilla glue
@MattsHobbyHour3 ай бұрын
I usually pin the model to the base afterwards using paper clips and super glue. If you prefer you could attach/paint the model first and do the base last.
