Awesome video, thanks. Will get this for my LR3 in Australia.

Good and straight to the point video. i have that same bike carrier on my gas car and i never had an issue with the bike falling off. Gotta be mindful not to drive underground or into a mcdonalds drive thru or else it will be very expensive repair! Cheers.

Thanks and agreed! I went into a multi story car park years ago with a roof box on a car and took some of their ceiling lights out 😩

Great endorsement for the bike carrier, Steve. Thule should be pleased. Very impressive (as was the one-handed camera/assembly work!) 👍🤗 PS: Don't forget your ladder 🤣

Hi, Steve. What made you opt for the roof bars over the suction cups you did an older video? I only ask as your video on the Rockbro's cup carrier has convinced me to buy it (for my RR Evoque panoramic roof) but after seeing this video, I'm wondering if you ended up having a negative experience with the suction carrier?

Hi Ian, I got on really well with the suction cups! I had referral credits recently so was able to get the roof bars for free.

@@SteveJulien Thanks for the swift response, Steve. Glad to hear that. I will give the suction cups a go. Its fantastic that you were able to snag the roof bars for free! Enjoy your new setup! 😊🚗

Hey Steve, random question, but do you still use the Veri (I think it was Veri) CGM? I remember watching your review about it but can’t find it anymore and wondered how you got on with it

Hi, I wore it for around a year but don’t anymore. It’s good to get the data.

It's OK if you have passengers and really have to put the bike up on the roof for a short drive. But know that this setup will cause a LOT of air drag. Best way to transport a bike like this is to remove both wheels and put the frame in the backseat. The bike remains protected and there will be no air drag while driving on the highway. Thule also makes a great hitch-mount carrier that puts the bike in the back, of the car without any contact on the body. Very easy to load up and much less air drag, but it requires a trailer hitch, which must be bolted to the car's underside.

Not so easy in the Model 3 - and in Australia the tow bar mount is not a factory option.
