Easy Way to Make Duplicate Remote Key Fobs on Honda Accord 2006

This video is to show you how to make a duplicate key fob on Honda Accord 2006. Very simple steps to make it. You don't need a programming tool to make it.

Note:
This procedure is not engine immobilizer programming, which is needed for a new key to start the engine. You will need Honda HDS, a PCM code or a dealership / locksmith can do it for your new key.

The panic button has to be pushed and held down for at least 2 seconds for it to work. Just pushing it momentarily will not trigger the alarm. Also, you don't need to push every button to have them programmed to the car. You only need to use the lock button. After the 4th time, hit the lock button once to enter it, and then hit the lock button a second time to save it to the computer's memory. After that remove the key from the ignition and test it to make sure it works. If it doesn't work, redo the 4 steps again.. And for those wondering.... this 4 time programming method should work for most Honda's that have remote buttons on the key.

I bought honda key from dealer I programed it but I can't get the car the stay running , the security system doesn't recognize the key , I got it programed to lock and unlock but not run ignition. Do you know how to fix that part

You might be able to help me out. I have an older accord. An 07 v6. I locked my only key in the car. Its stuck in the ignition. Car is off. Im going to take a piece of thin wire im going to slide it inbetween the door right where the door unlock pull is at and im going to loop the wire around and unlock the car pulling it. Unless im mistaken, the alarm shouldnt go off until I pull the lock right? Also, my key has a dead battery so Im hoping when i take it out of the ignition i can close the car door and insert thr key into the drivers doorhandle lock and lock it, then unlock it, lock it, and unlock it again and im hoping that will turn the alarm off. Im hoping the alarm wont go off while im sliding the wire in or im doomed because if i cant open it quickly then the vehicle will be stuck with the alarm going

Ok I guys I found out the hard way that this will only program the door locks if you try too start the car with after it’s been cut and copied it will turn on the green anti theft icon on the dash and it will start but turn right off you will still have to get it programmed this isn’t the best way to go i don’t understand what’s the purpose of this video unless you want a key that just unlocks your doors you can do this but it’s pointless if you ask me

Lost the key and if you don’t have a copy will cost you &275 to get it made and program if you have the key cut with the remote will pay only 75 to program it maybe les

This is only part of the solution: Even after doing all that, your car will NOT start. You must now program the ECU to start the car with the new key.

I had to replace the ignition lock cylinder in my '03 Honda Pilot. Is there a way to reprogram my old fob with a new switch and key? The battery had died and I couldn't reprogram the fob with the old switch because it was difficult to turn and I wasn't able to complete the process in the amount of time needed. Thank you. There are few possibilities for what happened. Your car battery maybe very low or dead, the keys are no longer programmed ro your car or a faulty on the keyless system. You can try to follow the same steps on my video after you checked the car battery and make sure you install the key fob's battery correctly. If the keys are still registered, it should work. If not, Im affraid your keyless system is bad. Good luck.

Go to a locksmith key will need coding to ignition as well.Duplicating a key will not start the car.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to start the engine, but only to operate the door lock. You will still need to go to lock smith. Sorry

Did you replace the battery? Try to replace the FOB battery first and see if it works. Do not throw away the old key. You can move the immobilizer chips from the old one to the new one to make sure it is on the same frequency.

@@NorCalOutdoor I just changed the key's internal control, the electronic board. The immobilizer chip remains the same and works normally, the alarm works if I turn the key in the door handle but the control does not configure. I'm really sad that I couldn't do it :(

@Central dotNET Sorry to hear that. Usually, the remote control is the easy one. Maybe the Receiver Unit keyless entry was bad or not connected right.

Unfortunately no, you will need a programming key and code

You will first need to get a working key from a Honda dealer (expensive), or find a local locksmith that does Honda key cutting and programming to do it (cheaper). Once you get a working key, you can then use the above video to program upto 3(?) keys/remotes to the car.

You will have a small chip in the old key that you need to move to new key. If you lost or threw old key away, you need to go to dealership to code it.

Hi @Onessis, unfortunately it will only program the remote, but you will still need to register a new key to the car if it hasn't been registered yet. You will need a locksmith to do that

@@BasedGulagNationalist Sayangnya duplicate ini hanya bisa buat buka pintu, trunk, and panic button, tapi ga bisa untuk starter. Jadi sehabis di program, harus dibawa ke locksmith untuk di potong dan program. Mereka akan charge sekitar $60-$90 agar kuncinya bisa diregister di pcm.
