Thanks for showing this. I've been using silver dimes & quarters to make bezel wire. It's basically a seamless bezel for setting stones like turquoise cabochons. It's just one less soldering joint I have to worry about. I have also used that type of coin flat-wire in my bell handles. Honestly, I'm a little embarrassed to say that it never even crossed my mind to make twisted wire using coins. That's really a great idea. I can't wait to try it out. It will look killer around a coin bezel set cabochon. Thanks for the tips. I really appreciate it.

Seriously, it's such a simple idea, but it's ingenious! I just ran out of wire, too. Instead of ordering more wire, I'm getting some draw plates. I like working with 999fs, so I will probably start with some generic silver rounds. I'm legitimately excited about this right now 😅. Thanks again, Jason.

AWESOME!!! The 999 works so easy to work with too. You can punch multiple rings out for wire if your using a big round. Start with the smallest punch you have. Cool!

Jason , So were you saying, if I had 2 silver coins the same size, and punched a 15 mm hole in one then a 20 mm hole in the other, the coin with the 15 mm hole would end up a bigger size ring to fit a thicker finger,? And if the answer is yes`would the coin with the 15 mm hole ending up as a ring have a wider or slimmer width band to it?, than the one with the 20 mm hole

Great question! It is a little counter intuitive. The thing to understand is that hole size does not determine ring size because we can adjust the size to whatever we want. Ring size actually determines what size hole to punch. If the ring needs to be stretched to a big size, the band will narrow and thin out so you would want to go with a smaller hole than usual to have more metal to leave a decent sized band. If that same coin is being reduced to a small size, you would want less material "larger hole" because the band will widen and thicken as it is reduced. Check out my FAQ page, It discusses things like this: jasons.works/coin-ring-craft-faq/ Thanks!! Jason
