We had one like that when my grandparents died, we had everything in section A 50 cents, B was $2, C was 5, D was 10, and E was 10+ But that was when we were selling everything they owned that no one wanted to keep in the family. If they were cleaning out a garage or a shed or something and just want it gone I could definitely see a 50 cent garage sale happening

Don’t know if it’s a smaller town thing, but I’ve seen these types of garage sales all around town my whole life. Easy to figure this out, you can look at sold things on eBay. You can also see how many sold in the last 90 days and for how much. Yes, but it's a great starting point, because most kids that age don't know the actual price of the items since they've never had to purchase them. And since it is used, and as long as it's working, a kid could essentially cut that price in half, put it up for $30 and still make a really nice profit of $29.50. Sell 10 items like that and that's about 300 bucks. The goal is to teach them the value of a dollar and what its like to earn your own money. But I'm sure you knew that already

people like to just clean out their junk. They don’t want it, it’s not garbage, and eBay takes a long time to make sales sometimes. If you’re trying to clean out a junk room quickly you sell things for dirt. If you make things expensive then the chances of anyone buying it are unlikely

Dude that’s badass, good for her! She made a profit on her knowledge of brands and supply and demand. That’s fng genius.

@@debbiekaren7058 She artificially increased the price of necesarry clothes without adding anything to product. Goodwill is so very poor people can get the basics of what they need to survive. Buying out Goodwill and flipping items at a higher price just fucks over those people that already can barely afford Goodwill.

@@zackbobby5550 not sure where people get this idea, salvation and goodwill and all these little markets are just not for poor people its a low cost option for the general public since its all donated to a company for free so by that logic good will and salvation are evil companies because they get free stuff and turn a profit by selling it to people instead of just donating it away specially when places like salvation use ebay to price their items anyways

@@bsparks1283 Well first of all Slavation is known to be a pretty bad company I don't count them. Secondly, sure anybody can buy stuff from there but it IS absolutely targeted at getting poor people the basic necessities. Furthermore, they can't donate stuff away because they do have overhead costs of employees and locations. They do only barely charge over their overhead though so that's why stuff is so cheap. And by your logic, it'd be totally fine for a big company to come into a poor neighborhood, kick everybody out of their homes, and build something way more than what they can afford where their houses used to be. And yes that happens all the time. And, yes, it is brutally fucked up.

I once found a weighted sterling candlestick at a yard sale for $1. After tearing it apart, it was about $60 worth of scrap silver
