Salute man 🙏🏾🙌🏾 this is awesome And thank you,I just wanna ask u ,now do we have to release our music on platforms or distrokid first before we clear the sample or make our beat first then go straight to tracklib to clear it?

Been on Tracklib for 2yrs and this process is simple and very beneficial to sample based artists! Thanks for sharing!

This is 🔥🔥🔥 sample clearance kept me from making a lot of instrumentals from samples. Thanks!!!

Thanks Malo Beats for showing this because I wanted to see the whole process of sample clearing. I've upgraded to the Max Subscription level. Great content!

Hey bro, thank you so much for sharing this feedback. Believe me, I was the same way and thought this process might be a bit more complex but is easier than I expected so now I’m motivated to release an entire project and clearing that whole project doing things the right way. I really appreciate you. Thank you so much.

Malo, thank you for sharing! You are hands down one of my best subs on you tube. From the beatmaking inspiration to the admin parts of making our tracks legit, you are simply amazing my brother! God bless and Salute!

Thank you for making this tutorial. I've been emailing Tracklib about the ISRC process of the sample clearance, weeks have gone by and not one response. It's a bit confusing, somewhat of a backwards step, because you are releasing the song to your distributor in order to obtain your ISRC code before even clearing the sample. I figured you would have to get clearance first before releasing, but i guess Tracklib and the publishers are ok with it.

Thanks for this great vid. Helps a lot. Is the Ascap part only for US citizens?

This might get me back into sampling again. If you find the right songs and don't sample too much then the splits are pretty fair in my opinion. I could make beats a lot faster with a nice foundation already created.

My question is, "Should I add them on the Distrokid credits as a writer as well?"

Hey Malo, your video is right on time! I am about to release en EP using samples from Tracklib. I think you also need to register the splits with your PRO as well as the distributor? Thank you for your video, and again, perfect timing for me !

Hi Malo, I have a quick question. I’d like to join Tracklib but I don’t have any PRO. I noticed, however, the PRO selection has an “N/A” option. I have Distrokid, which is my main source of royalties. The PRO in the United Kingdom close to ASCAP is PRS for Music. However, I just want to be clear before I start releasing sampled music. Is the PRO absolutely needed or can I still use Tracklib without it? Please let me know Hope all is blessed with yoy

Keep in mind that if traklib takes down the song you don’t have rights anymore. It happened to me. They email you if your sample was taken down from tracklib

Really? That's kind of a dealbreaker... It's not really future-proof then. What if you sell your beat and the song gets removed... then everyone who used that beat no longer has sample clearance
@ming-artoflight27617 ай бұрын
Also, remind you, if you stop your subscription, you have no more rights to using the sample. So it might look good in the beginning, but there are many downside for independent artists. I m in the music industry since 1990, so make sure you understand the downsides of this.
@ceeeinfinit34416 ай бұрын
@@ming-artoflight2761 yo, not true, I was thinking the same thing but check this out on their website. Read the last sentence. I hope that brought clarity. “If you cancel your subscription, you will retain full access to your account until the next renewal date, at which point you will be downgraded to our limited tier. You will no longer be able to use any credits or access your downloads, saved tracks or collections. Any unused credits are removed from your account 30 days after the plan ends, unless you resubscribe. Your licenses will remain active and you can also license new songs from any previously downloaded tracks.”

I read on their site that you can only sample up to 60 seconds of a song. Do you know if you can use 60 seconds per song and use samples from more than one song in your production along with royalty free samples from other sites?
@tillman52137 ай бұрын
If you sample a song from vinyl but clear the same song on tracklib would that be ok?

Absolutely as long as it’s one of the same records from their catalog

the only thing i found hard to understand while i tried to clear my sample for the first time, was that distributor and ascap stuff, which you didn't say much about. do i really need a distributor if i make beats for tracklib? does that make any sense economically?
