You overlooked something super important. When farming volatiles (especially outdoors) you NEED to use potion of treasure finding. It DRASTICALLY improves the loot/gold/volatiles you get.

For the trillium, all you have to do is farm Sunsong Ranch (WoW Farmville). If you plant snakeroot, it's worth it because more than half of your harvest is trillium. The other seeds are not worth it.

There is a way around this - make a new character on a dead server on a second account, level it up (yeah, I know, it's a pain, but you could always use your expansion purchase boost for this, too, when you buy a new xpac) and then just log in, invite yourself, and farm the dead server to your heart's content. It's a lot of setup, granted, but your main will get all of the drops on your main server. I've been doing this for about three years now because I play on a heavy pop server, and it's been a lifesaver.

Elementium ore and pyrite sell pretty well on my server and are easy to farm out in uldum. You get all sorts of volatile stuff from it too. Helps if you are an engineer, you can make the Electrostatic Condenser get volatile air from the mining too. There is also a rare pet you can mine up that sells for around 3k on my server

A way to combine 2 of these farms. Requires a char with mining and herbalism (preferably druid) that can clear the first wing of Heart of Fear LFR quickly. Also, bag space, a lot of bag space, no more than that, more than that, look just have as much bag space as possible. Fly around Vale of eternal blossoms gathering ore/herbs. (Firewater helps) Eventually you should pick a golden lotus herb. This will give you the 'Luck of the Lotus' buff. Allowing you to loot bonus Plundered Treasures from mobs. Head off to the Seat of Knowledge and queue for Dread Approach asap. Chain clear the trash up to the first boss until your buff runs out. I manage 7 runs in the duration, but you can probably squeeze in one or two more. You will get a lot of bonus treasure chests containing gold, motes of harmony, exotic leather, ghost/trillium ore, and herbs. It's nice to have a rogue alt to open the lock-boxes.

My main way of making gold is doing all the WoD raids on 7 toons, doing Skyreach once a day, and farming mining in Outland.

heroic zul gurub. you can kill boss style mobs without locking yourself out. I find killing only 2 is really needed, but you can do more. I say this because its the only ones you get volatiles from. kill the florawing hive queen you get an openable thing with in my experience 9 herbs and 5 or 6 of each life or wind. then there is the turtle tor-tun who drops 5+ earth. the big thing is the turtle you can keep killing over and over if you reset so long as you dont kill a boss. The other quest boss things drop bags of ore or food stuffs but i haven't tried them yet to see if they can drop things more than once. If i had to guess only ones that dont drop bags of openable loot can get you loot each time.

@@Rustycobra Another thing I do that's mostly for a change of pace farm/lazy farm is in wod, but you have to have a level three... whatever the mount building is so you can get the in training mounts. You also have to have the wod only loot a rang, but if you are an engineer the generic one works too or you can use both. basically you get the wolf and talbuk whistle, otheres are to slow, and go to a place you want to farm. Depending on your class will determine how you do this to an extent but basically while on these "mounts" you can cast/fight/use toys/hearthstones/etc while running. So mix fighting with the loot a rang you can keep killing without stopping to loot just keep running. the toys do have a three second cd so keep that in mind. being an engineer with both toys makes it easier though. the whistles have 3 charges 5 minutes each and the garrison hearth is 20 minutes so that makes it easier. It's also a great way to farm some rep like those cat people in the tanaan jungle for their claws. you can target what you want to farm of course for meat, fur, etc. you can also mine/herb like this but i dont. another perk is you get to ride these in buildings/caves, but not mount up on them in them. And if you go to a place with tons of something that can do then you can create a garrison invasion a ton faster! as a monk i just use my taunt totem and my little tornado run through things and loot, but like i said each class works different..... sorry for my ramblings. especially if they were hard to follow.

If your farming volatile fire or water u need a 5 man team and use your potion of treasure finding which gives u tiny chests that contain misc items from pyrium ore to volatiles and other things now u can buy potion of treasure finding from ah or if your an alchemist u can make them it's a cata recipe so u can learn the recipe from your trainer in orgrimmar for the horde and stormwind for the alliance. The absolute best 5 man for this is an all Druid team u will double your volatiles earned.

As for the rest I looked into them and none of the Legion ones are soloable due to mechanics and it seems most of the BFA ones won't be either except the one for EP. You left out the best place to find ghost iron and Trillium in Pandaria. Literally farming it. Go set up your little farm to get you out at least 12 spaces (which you can do real quick) and plant snakeroot, it drops a ghost iron as well as either a white or black Trillium ore every time

Mogu'shan Vaults, just go in and kill all the stone dogs, don't kill the bosses. Rinse and repeat, quick and easy for motes, some green greenies plus the stone heart junk is reasonable gold
