I also fly the Fenix but with a Flight Sim Projects A320 Side Stick on a Hotas Magnetic Base. Unfortunately, I did not find the right setting and was very dissatisfied with my manual approaches. Today I adopted your settings and I am totally thrilled. I hand flown the Fenix today from 37000ft to touchdown by hand.👍👍👍👍👍 Thanks for the video

For some reason, these settings rendered my Fenix A320 useless and uncontrollable. I have reverted to original 0% sensitivity settings on the Thrustmaster joystick. But thank you for your most helpful videos. The world of MSFS 2020 would be a much poorer place without you.

These settings for Fenix are more or less spot on. I copied all your settings as a test all is sweet but now I cannot read any of my cockpit lettering but I imagine that's my tuning to my pc. One thing that has helped my frame rates and its spot on is setting my frame rate to 30 in nvidia and my pc is not sweating like I am in this hot weather thanks for that Gavin

For FBW, I’ve got my sensitivity for pitch axis at 50% as it’s quite sensitive. The real sidestick is also very sensitive but it’s stiff, while the tca isn’t, so the sensitivity curve helps in that aspect

I have always had major issues trying to land this thing. Every time it crashes hard into the runway even though I am flaring at 30 feet. Also I just can't get it onto the centre line. It was bad before the recent update, but it has got even worse. No idea where I'm going wrong - even with your settings..

I've flown full-size (real-life) gliders solo and a Cessna 172 up to PPL level, but I'm not a jet (or sim) pilot; would I be right in thinking that, although not used directly by the pilot above a certain speed, the rudder IS involved during flight to help produce co-ordinated aileron-elevator turns, but that the inputs are added automatically by the 'laws' in the A320's flight control computer? I also fly RC models and, as in full-size planes, the rudder is definitely used in flight. It's entirely up to the pilot, though, to use ju-u-u-ust enough to keep the turns tidy. Interestingly (says she, boringly😁), today's RC model equipment is able to provide quite complicated mixed control-stick inputs which exactly mimic the subtle flight surface movements of the big airliners with zero skill required from the pilot. There are settings for rates, sensitivity, exponential, differential movement and blended inputs. After learning on simple analogue gear it almost feels like cheating. Even something as mesmerising as the A380's 'dancing ailerons' (and fluttering spoilers etc) can be reproduced with a bit of simple programming. Anyway, as your video's about sensitivity and stick waggling, I just wondered if the simulator applied the various mixed roll-pitch-yaw co-ordinated turn inputs automatically, or whether you had to set things up yourself from scratch.
@Easyjetsimpilot2 жыл бұрын
The rudder is used in flight by the Flight computers, but not by the pilots. This is another reason why part of the after engine flows are to reset the rudder trim value to 0 as its likely in the R or L position following the previous flight.

Would you happen to know how to fix this issue I have? I do not know if it has to do with calibration or just setting it up, but when I have the throttle at idle, the dot on the line in the sensitivity settings isn't centered. Instead it is to the right by a little bit.

What I mean is that the sim puts the throttle to idle when I only have it in the middle in real life

Hey Gavin, in the Fenix, are we able to assign the steering tiller to the throttle lever on the side stick as in the FBW?

@@scottevans6765 just don’t forget there’s a pedal disconnect or whatever it’s called option in the EFB, and then the button on the virtual tiller for disconnecting the rudder pedals. I have a Virpil flight stick with a twist so I use that set to the sim nose wheel steering axis and works a treat in the Fenix. Word of warning though, be careful with maximum steering angle, it can get a bit out of control as if the nose wheel gets stuck for a moment if the speed and angle is too high, so make sure to straighten up earlier than you think in those situations.
@scottevans67652 жыл бұрын
@@WhiteHawk77 Yes, I saw the option to turn on or off the nose wheel steering on the EFB. I just wasn't sure if it was a certain assignment that was needed. I just assigned it to nose wheel steering under miscellaneous, and it works great. Thanks again.

Its frustrating. Even after following the video, I cannot fully deflect the rudder to L or R and whenever I get a good landing, the plane does not maintain directional control and crazily veers off to the left or right, mostly to the left off the runway. Dont know what to do..... Edit: although it is still frustrating to land this airplane, and still dont get what is wrong with the rudder, the settings and the video did help with the steering on the ground, the roll and pitch feel more natural.

It seems you haven't watched the video or you have not understood what he said at 4:50. Gavin says, he is currently setting up rudder padels, no word of saying he is not using rudder. He also mentioned that you can use the twist axis of a joystick to control the rudder. He said though that in a real A320 the rudder is ONLY used to get out of a crab angle a few feet above the runway during a landing. BTW, this is valid for most nodern tube liners.
