Another piece of advice I learned was: When you are on final, your eyes will be looking at the TDZ. When over the threshold / just before the flare, adjust the point where your eyes are looking from the TDZ to the opposite end of the runway (i.e look more 'up!'), and it's easier to judge the relative motion & height.

Yeah , that is the way i'm doing it :) just simple forget about PAPIs , ILS (which is in MSFS often wrong anyway) and fly pure visually :) . But the false perspective is true devil :D ..i'm forgetting about it and then slam it like Ryanair pilot . 😇🙃 or jumping on rwy like a kangaroo .. i'm totally happy for everything below -500 ft/min, the landing gear can hadle it dont worry guys ☺

The biggest problem I have is to achieve the proper height at the proper time, e.g. to get from FL360 to FL40 to start my approach. I'm usually either too high or too low P.S. Extremely helpful video, BTW, thank you, Gavin!
@joshuawilkinson71072 жыл бұрын
I usually times my FL by 3 and take off a 0 so if you are at FL360 360 x 3 = 1080 take off the 0 = 108 so start descending around 108 NM out. Can descend sooner but usually that is your limit to a steady descent.

A question about auto pilot landing. When landing with auto-pilot, do we have to switch off before the touch or after the touch ?? I personnally cut after landing, but I get an error msg almost everytime ! To hard landing or so what ? What is the good way to land with autopilot ? THX
@blitz33912 жыл бұрын
When you do an autoland, you turn it off once landed and all wheels down on the ground.
@jakob09842 жыл бұрын
The problem with fenix is that the call out 30 when I start flare is to late and I always hit the ground like a rock. When I do a flare after call out 40 the plane is climbing. That's not how the aircraft should behave. With airbus from FBW i don't have those problems.

@AlexFlies2 жыл бұрын
@@jakob0984 Same with me about FBW and Fenix. I have muchhh better landings with FBW but thats also cause I have much more practice and landings with it than fenix. Keep in mind that fenix also is more realistic and harder to control/land. So practice makes perfect, I see myself getting progressively better with landings and recently got -14 FPM.

If the plane always behaves the same , it's a pilot issue. Try to start the flare at 30feet, dont aim for the smoothest touchdown ever
