Another idea for the crusts is to shake them in a bag with a little oil and seasoning, and bake them for 10 minutes to make crusty fingers that are great with soup or dips. I always separate and label the vegetarian options too 😁

I like the idea of putting the spreads in the plastic bags! Instead of slicing the cucumber in rounds, I cut the cucumber up in the width of the bread and then slice the piece on the mandolin. You only need two slices of the cucumber on the bread and it isn’t as likely to “squash” as it is when sliced in rounds.
@EasyPeasyKitchen7 ай бұрын
That's an interesting idea with the cucumber. I might have to try it sometime 😜

I helped Mother with party sandwiches. She threw a lot of large cocktail parties. We cut the bread first. Take a whole loaf and use an electric knife. Cut the edges off very quickly, all at once. We use the crusts for breadcrumbs in other dishes. They can be frozen and have no bits of mayo on them. I like that way much better.
@EasyPeasyKitchen6 ай бұрын
You can cut the bread first, but it does mean you'll have bits of lettuce and meat sticking out the edges... there's no right or wrong way though, make them whichever way works best for you... it's all about having fun 😉

Love how these look… dying to taste them all!! Wondering if anyone has used the tiny pretzel sticks as skewers? I like those because they can be eaten or discarded. Less of a hassle for children an teachers at a school function or people who don’t know what to do with more decorative skewers after they’re finished eating.
@EasyPeasyKitchen7 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment, that's an interesting point using an edible skewer. My only thoughts would be that the pretzel stick may go soggy if it was done too long in advance and it might not be strong enough to pierce through something like salami. I guess you could stick in a skewer to make the hole and then pull it out and replace it with a pretzel stick. If you try this let me know how it went ☺️

What a perfect occasion for some beautiful sandwiches. You can take them out around say 10am (or earlier if you need to) and cut them. Then lightly rewrap and put them back in the fridge if it's more than 30mins before serving. If it's less than 30mins they should be fine to stay out, just keep a loose wrap over until you're ready to eat them to stop them drying out. Hope you have a fantastic baby shower celebration for your daughter 😊
