You capped off your trip with a wonderful date day. The castle museum looked like it had something for every interest. I loved Morton's singing. Thank you for sharing more of the history of your country.

I love history and I love these videos, so thankyou! Our house from 1770 has walls about 70cm thick, but not 3-4 m like castles... I have come to the conclusion that most of northern European people are originally from Jutland and just spread out from there (Anglo-Saxons, Jutes, Vikings, Northmen/Normandy...)!! I would love it if you visited any Viking sites, I am fascinated by anywhere in Scandinavia, tho 😉 We hope to sail the coasts over several months in a year or two... 😃 And happy wedding anniversary 🥂🍰

I really loved your video; it brings back old memories; my first trip outside of my country in 1964 was to Haderslev with lots of sidetrips.

Ringriderij is a Frisian tradition which is performed in the south of Denmark and the Northern part of Germany. I have gotten aquianed to it on the Island of Föhr whre my parents have spent theit holidays from 1970 to 1988.

Looks like a nice day out! The English translation of the horseback thing where they try to knock each other off with a long pole is jousting :) It was a popular spectator sport in a few different countries I think.

Thanks for taking us along your date showing us the beautiful Sønderborg Castle. Happy wedding anniversary on your 12 years of marriage:-) Even though I have family in near Aabenraa, I can’t really remember eating at a Sønderjysk kaffebord. The cakes looked really good. You probably have thought about it, but is it possible to show or put up the Danish noun or place on the screen every time you use the Danish word instead of English? Then people can google it if they want to. In this video I’m particularly thinking of the “Sønderjyske Kaffebord” scene and the names of the cakes and the “ringridning” Just like when you convert kroner into US Dollars or Euros. Just in reference to future videos. Great video as always. One day you maybe gonna show us the camper. I would really love to see the camper and see how three people fits in it on your travels. Again happy wedding anniversary on 12 years of marriage:-) one day you

One Girl One Suitcase (Maria Storgaard) First of all you guys are not old. You both look young late 20s to early 30s. NOT a day over period! Read the other comment you gave to the other subscriber. Thanks. But actually the weekend started bad. A VERY VERY KZbin worthy incident took place. I just don’t carry a camera or Go Pro with me. I should have installed one in my windshield of my car though. Friday even wasn’t that funny. Some 29 year old guy accidentally crashed into my car at Øresundsmotorvejen where you’re only allowed to drive 90 km/h or 56 mph on a specified section. So I lowered the speed, cause I know the police have speed cameras or radar, and I didn’t want to get a speeding ticket or “klip i kørekortet”/ a point in my drivers license. Well the this individual wanted to overtake me, but as he overtook me, he was pressured by a third party, he says. As he thought he had overtaken me, he wanted to go into the right lane. But he saw me to late, and as he tried to regain control over his moms vehicle before hitting me. His moms car “fishtailed” hitting me with approx 90 km/h or 56 mph and then made 180 degree slide or turn facing the front end against the traffic ending up in the hard shoulder. Luckily I had noticed something was completely off, so mentally my mind and body must have prepared for a crash, cause I wasn’t freaking out or anything when he hit me. Seconds before he hit me, I saw the car 20-40 cm/ 7.8 - 15.7 inch away from my car. So when I heard the smashing sound of metal smashing together I was total in control and I simply drove into the hard shoulder and parked the car putting the hazard lights on. I first thought of what could’ve happened, when I came home if I also lost control over my car. He admitted the fault was on his side. First I actually thought he was harassing me, for not driving faster than 90 km/h or 56 mph. But as it turned out, he “just” lost control over his moms car. Luckily no one got serious hurt or injured, only the cars. My car got a huge dent in the left rear door and cannot open, left front door also took a hit but it opens and so did the rear left fender and left rocker panels/door sills. His moms car got a dent in the front right side of the bumper. Both cars could drive away from the scene without roadside assistance like SOS Vejhjælp or Falck or Triple A. So Friday ended up making online statement to the insurance company talking on the phone with them. But the weekend ended up with busy schedule and dinner plans with friends and a car that still can drive. But most most important no one got seriously hurt or injured. So now I’m just waiting for the body shop can take in my car and fix it on the July 16th. Not the first time my car’s involved in an accident. Just 9 month old the car was rear ended with 15-25 km/h or 9-16 mph by a middle aged man fooling around with the radio or cell phone pushing me up into woman’s car in front of me. He ended up by paying for both accidents on his insurance.

Thank you from America! You are a lovely couple and I enjoyed this video so much! I've traced my genealogy to Frederick Charles (Friedrich Carl) 1706-1761, who was born at "Sønderborg Slot." His mistress Sophie Agnes Olearius, also my relation, produced six of his daughters. He had no male heirs and the rule of the Duchy of Holstein-Plön returned to the Danish crown. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Charles,_Duke_of_Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön

I would never guess that English wasn’t your first language, I can hardly hear your danish accent. I do hear your husbands accent though.
