Eat The Scroll

God called Ezekiel to be a prophet. On God's command, he eats the scroll. He is a priest who among those deported by the Babylonians. He is experiencing loss and grief. Yet the scroll, filled with woe and lament, he says, was sweet as honey. The scripture contains words of woe, but also words of hope. The lament and woe doesn't disappear, but is coupled with hope and courage. Jesus says blessed are those who mourn. How are those that mourn blessed and comforted. We feel the presence of God in our mourning. Taste and see that the Lord is good.
