I love your videos. While I’m much older than you I can truly connect with you. When I was a child my parents would take me to Chihuahua to spend the summer with my grandparents . We also took trips throughout Mexico. Your beautiful wife Jenny has a strong resemblance to to my dear wife Martha , a slender and beautiful girl from Michoacán . After we married I wanted to travel with her throughout Mexico. However our children came within two years of our marriage but we traveled all over Mexico with children in tow. After I first met my wife I traveled to San Luis Potosí to visit a friend that I had met in California . Such a beautiful town . There I decided to return to California and ask her to be my wife. If you have children you must take them to Mexico. Teach them to speak Spanish . My wife still speaks Spanish at home in spite of having learned English and our grow children not only speak Spanish fluently but are even certified interpreters and translators. Take them to Mexico. “ Como México no hay dos” y “ una vez que el polvo de México caiga en tu corazón no conocerás paz en otra tierra” I am retiring in a few months - Mexico here we come.

Rene thank you for your time in writing this comment and thank you for sharing your beautiful story of your marriage. We hope that your retirement will be able to give you the opportunity to live up to the traveling you wanted to experience. We have never been to chihuahua but we hope to make it out there soon. Age can be a factor for so many things but to connect with someone who feels the same as you never! We hope to continue to make content that you can resonate with if you ever have any suggestions feel free to comment. Where do you plan to visit as soon as you retire if you don't mind us asking. We love that you still speak spanish at home it is very important. The way things are going it might be the other way around we might take our future children to CHicago so they can learn about their Chicago roots. We plan to stay in mexico to raise kids here instead of Chicago. Saludos amigo!

Here in Canada, the closest thing to a michelada is a caesar, which I think in the U.S. is similar to a bloody Mary. Micheladas are SO good! If you are ever in Vancouver, the best micheladas are at Patrón in downtown Vancouver!

WOWEE! That first michelada looks like a MEAL! 😋 We had no idea there were so many varieties, nor did we realize they came without Clamato. Makes sense though, after hearing that cool story of the drink’s origin. Those look really appealing and I’m (Stephen) super curious to try a “classic” one day! It’s so great to see you guys exploring your families’ roots. Also, the segment with the name(s) of the church was hilarious! 😊

It's a great place especially for food! Believe it or not, we are not making a food vlog for now mostly because in two week that we spent in San Luis we didn't eat out much. I, Kevin, have so many family members that we were offered to eat everywhere and didn't eat out much. We will go back soon and make an entire video on street tacos because there tons of taco stands in San Luis and they looked amazing.

So Micheladas are the Bloody Marys of Mexico.
@EatBailaTravel
@EatBailaTravel Жыл бұрын
that's actually how I like to compare it sometimes, too! though instead of vodka like bloody marys usually have, the michelada is beer based. Though the michelada may or may not be tomato based. As told in its origin story, the original michelada did not contain tomato juice/clamato but was added later as people began to get more creative with it 😊 I like trying all the versions!

Never had a Michelada. Always thought it was just some gimmicky drink. I never heard about it in the 1990s/2000s. Now, after this video I won't try one until I go to San Luis Potosi for the Original version.

@@EatBailaTravel @Jenny and Kevin Eat Baila Travel Happy to report on the second time I watched, all worked perfectly. BTW, here in Texas, every michelada I've ever had had Clamato in it. Asked a couple of guys from Guanajuato that I work with today, and they said at their Rancho, no clamato, just the sauces and lime juice. Told me it was the TexMex way to add the Clamato.
@EatBailaTravel
@EatBailaTravel 3 жыл бұрын
@@ReagansDad66 thank you for letting us know about subtitles. There’s different theories as to why they add Clamato. Some say it’s the coastal people that added it to eat with seafood. Others say Mexico did it to make their own version the list goes on. We like all of them! 🍺 🤤 we’re currently in Guanajuato filming a vlog on the Mexican independence. We should be uploading tomorrow just in time for the independence celebrations! Saludos amigo
