Janice, if you ever get the chance I recommend you try the convenience store chain Seicomart in Japan as they have an onsite kitchen with a hot food section (called 'Hot Chef'). I would recommend the Katsu (Chicken or Pork) with Curry and Rice, plus also the Potatoe Chunks/Wedges,which went well with the Fried Chicken pieces. Just for further information this chain of store are based around the Hokkaido region of Japan, apart from one store in Saitama.

That look on your face when you tried the tomato juice 🤣🤣. I’m thinking the broth might come from something like Chinese dumplings. You always make the food look so good & attractive, but I’m just not sure I would have the inner strength to do 3 consecutive meals from a convenience store, especially in a food heaven (for me) like Japan. Soooo… Thanks for taking one for the team! The bread was as big as your face and it was obvious you didn't like the tomato juice by your reaction. My guess with the "soup" that wasn't a soup, I'm just assuming that they do the same thing that they do for soup dumplings. A well made broth will solidify when chilled and melt with heat, so when it was heated up it melted and turned into a liquid.
@JaniceFung5 жыл бұрын

@@JaniceFung The collagen from the bones they use coagulates as it cools, they often use animal collagen for things like gelatin and other food thickeners, pills and medications, and even plastic surgeries, like for duck lips. It's not an added chemical, it comes naturally from the bones they're using to flavor whatever they are making. Like I said before, they probably had it on the bottom and just layered everything else on top of it and it melted with the heat causing everything else to sink into it. Personally I am not a tomato juice fan, Bloody Mary's are not for me.
