Hi Tim and Jen! I work for a movie theater were we reserve seats and our seats are leather. We are also a restaurant inside the movie theater and you can order beer, wine, and food during the movie. But we clean the seats with hot sanitized rags after each show. Hope this helps answer your question!

I worked at a movie theater...many years ago, but they don’t wipe down the seats unless someone spilled something on it. All they do is throw away the trash and sweep popcorn off the floor. As quickly as possible. But at the end of the night the theater I worked for had a cleaning crew come in and give the theaters a more thorough cleaning and vacuum the carpets. I’m not 100% sure if you can catch the flu through farts. Lol.

I'm a manager at a movie theatre and we usually clean seats if they are visibly dirty, otherwise janitors clean them every night. And no one knows there's disruptive guests in your movie unless you tell someone! It's understandable that possibly making a scene can be awkward but it's definitely better to let someone know that works there so they can fix the issue! :) (for future reference if you guys go see another movie)

I wore a mask to school for a few weeks until it chilled out here (I'm from Georgia), and I still wipe off my university's desks before class. If I hear someone cough at work (I work in the office of the theatre department at my university) I wear my mask until they go away. Ain't NOBODY got time for the flu!

Moments like this are why I still love living in a small to medium sized town. For me, it’s still $5 dollars a person to see a movie on week nights (no pass required). We have reclined seats that are leathery, but none are reserved. Usually, a theater is either a third or half full every time, so you can always get a seat where you need to. I go probably once a week or every two weeks. I can’t believe it’s $40 dollars! I wouldn’t go to the movies regularly at that price. That’s enough for me to go to the movies for over two months! Also, the breakfast looked great! I’m really happy you liked the movie!!

If you're spending $20 each to see a movie you're doing it wrong. There are plenty of theaters if you go during the day are $8 or less. My local theater (West Orange 5 in Winter Garden) is $6 during the day, and the one a little further down Colonial (Ocoee West Oaks Mall) is like $4.75 during the day. Though West Oaks is a dead mall.
@JrockJun5 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Our theater is really awesome (stadium seating and screens that are 35-40 feet long), and adult tickets range from $5 (all day on Tuesdays, for 2D movies) to $11 (3D movies any day but Tuesday). Some of the prices were recently raised by a dollar or two, which isn't great, but still. I seriously don't get how $20+ tickets can be justified.

I loved Black Panther, but we had sort of a bad experience with it too. When the movie started for us, a lady and her husband came in and stood right in front of us WHILE THE MOVIE WAS PLAYING and were talking to each other saying that we were in their seats (this was a theater with reclining seats you reserve). When the husband said we were already sitting there, the wife turned her light on her phone, shined it around the whole row, and looked at me and said that we had better move. When I told them to check their tickets....they ended up being 6 rows in front of us...and we were in the very last row. Needless to say, we missed the first 5 min of the movie or so. :( Not a biggie, but it's annoying when people are loud and uncaring of others around them.

I used to be a manager in a privately owned theatre chain and we had a 21+ section with 7 theatres and all had reclining seats. After each movie they wipe (beat with towels) the fabric seats and then clean the little tables attached and cupholders with sanitizer water. Every night after close there was a cleaning crew that came in. I'm not very sure what all they did besides vaccuming down the seats but the stadiums were always spotless. I dont think its the highest quality of preventing any possible germs but as I'm assuming you guys went to an AMC or Regal I dont know if their process is exactly the same. Our chain was eventually bought by Regal Cinemas and I left shortly after but I know a ton of people said the quality of care went down but I'm hoping that wasnt in cleanliness. Hope this helps answer your curiosities. Love your videos and take care!!
@collin.wesley6 жыл бұрын
I worked at the Regal in Winter Park Village for a year and a half and about 6 months in we changed all of our seats to the leather reclining seats. I worked in concessions but I was an usher when we were understaffed. Between each showing 2-4 ushers would go in and wipe down every seat (we would typically focus on the more popular seating sections) and sweep the floors. Every couple of hours there are slow periods and during those we would go into the empty theaters with the highest daily attendance and clean the seats a bit more thoroughly with a cleaning solution in a spray bottle. Every night around 1-2am, when all of the customers were gone, an independent cleaning crew would come in and clean each theater with more attention. The theater I worked at is considered a "premium theater" so everything costs more and as a result I'm sure we paid more attention to keeping everything clean than a lot of other theaters.
@cameronwillis25676 жыл бұрын
Hey Tim & Jenn! My friend works in corporate at a national movie theater chain and he says that the recliners at their theaters are leather, and the cleaning schedule is based on the sales volume at each location, but they’re definitely not cleaned between each showing.

I watch out of habit at this point. Everything is dragged out so much. Stuff that takes 20 minutes to read in the books takes 3 seasons on tv. Stop with all of the filler. Make maybe 5 episodes a year and fill them with actual content. Advance the story, already. Also, get rid of the unrealistic kills. Gently sliding a sharpened broom handle through a skull? I know it's a fantasy show, but with this logic, why not make them able to fly? It need SOME basis in reality.

When I saw Black Panther, there were about 2 people that made a scene. The first person was going up and down the isles trying to find a seat, but had her phone flashlight on the brightest setting. And of course people were YELLING for her to turn it off. The second person, was sitting in the FRONT ROW and was on her phone. And it reflected off the screen, and again, people were yelling at her to turn off her phone. I thought the whole thing was kinda funny, but... I guess a lot of other people there didn't. lol

I used to work for a movie theatre for 8 years, and cleaning chairs is not something we do on a regular basis. Maybe once a year. I can’t attest for all movie theatres, especially with fancy seats, but I highly doubt they are cleaned on a daily basis. They should be made with a material to avoid lice though. Movie theatres are pretty dirty public places.

Aww Jenn! Even if you are not as adventurous as Tim on choosing something different, there is something else that you do provide for us! Since Tim doesn't really eat seafood/only some kinds of Asian food, you do! And that helps us getting insight on those dishes, especially during Epcot's festivals and Seaworld's Seven Seas! Just think of it as you are adventurous in your own way! I also thought Black Panther was an amazing movie. I just saw it today (26th)! I do agree with Tim about the first scene with the bullets/strobing effect. Quite jarring for the eyes to adjust in darkness. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! I do recommend (in my opinion, just to make that clear) watching Thor Ragnarok. It is amazing too.

I work at a movie theater and the one thing I hate is how we can’t clean the seats in between shows. We literally have no time in between snow times to clean. On some days we barely have time to sweep and pick up trash before the next show starts playing. Sometimes we only have about 5-10 minutes to clean a theater that holds 150 people while we have 7 other theaters dropping at the same time and you’re the only one cleaning theaters that day 😅

I highly suggest continuing in watching the walking dead if you're into it. Here's a play by play for the seasons without completely ruining them for you- Season 4 builds the Governor up some more. Season 5 you see a familiar face and are introduced to new ones who play bigger rolls into later seasons. Season 6- NEGAN. There's nothing else to say other than that. Season 7- Negan comes out in full force. Season 8 which they're in now is called, "All Out War" for an awesome reason if they go by the comic books. Later season to come are going to be AMAZZZZING because new characters are going to be introduced and there just are no words. So in case you wanna continue watching it there's a little bit of how the seasons go. Again not ruining anything that happens but it's a brief summary! Awesome video as always! Stay frosty my friends! :)
