Cuban bacalao or salt fish is a cod fish fillet, boneless , that is dried in salt. It’s like a piece of wood. You have to soak it to rehydrate it, and change the water over about 3 days to get rid of the salt.Then you boil it and serve it with fresh sliced onions, extra virgin olive oil, and boiled potatoes. It’s incredibly delicious. There is also another version in a red sauce. Dried cod is used by many cultures including Italians.

Of all the places, the last place was the one to try. Man working by himself to keep cost down. The sandwiches looked ok. I'm not a mayo person, so I would have to put a hold on the mayo. Mustard or barbecue sauce would be my call. Great enjoyable video

What you were calling flat shrimp are actually butterflied shrimp. What they do is they split the shrimp but not completely through, as you might do with a hot dog roll and then they pounded flat. It's the same as the normal shrimp you have but as I said, just split

I’m Korean & Haitian and honestly there’s a lot of amazing Haitian food in Florida and that first restaurant was by far the worst I’ve seen🤣 but plz try 5 star rated Haitian food and Korean food 🤍

I suggest keeping cash on you. I know it'd probably make you a little worried being in "sketchy" areas. However, in a lot of places in Florida, some places actually accept only cash (not that the machine is broken). A seafood place called Essex Seafood House in the middle of Pierson ("nowhere") only accepts cash so when our family goes to Alexander springs (or any of the others on the way), we always make sure to have a decent amount of cash so we can afford to go afterward.

The meat used for country/chicken fried steak is not hamburger meat… it is a lean cut of beef that is cut/tenderized in a certain way to make it more palatable. It also helps make the crust even crispier and more enjoyable!

I will literally never understand why Brennen will completely change his accent and make himself sound dumb when he is around people of other ethnicities. It's truly one of the most insane things I've ever seen anyone do. He does it EVERY time he talks to someone who has a slight accent or comes from a different part of the world. Country fried steak is usually an eye round steak, put through a mechanical tenderizer a couple times. That’s why it looks like hamburger. Also for wings check out Houligans on the east coast. The one on Granada boulevard in Ormond Beach is the original, but the one at Destination Daytona is pretty fire too. Only way to order them are Wally wings. Thank me later.

Bacalao originated in Norway. It has spread to a lot of cultures and is probably more popular in Italy, Spain and parts of Asia than in Norway these days. I'm pretty certain that the dish you had at the Haitian place was gizzard, not chicken giza, but chicken gizzard. It is a part of the stomach, and tend to be a little chewy but it tastes really nice.
