Excessive exercise can also cause periods to stop or make it harder to get them back - so it might be worth reducing the amount you’re doing - I know it’s an integral part of your life and history but being a member of multiple gyms and doing really long runs and multiple work outs might not be helping potentially with the period - so if you don’t get it back it might be worth taking an honest look at the activity side of things. It isn’t meant as hate at all but an observation to just consider for yourself as nobody bringing it up might also not be helping considering exercise was also part of how you got unwell to start with xxxx

I agree. I had what was called “ athlete triad” when I entered recovery. I even became overweight and my periods did not come back. I was exercising way too much and my body was traumatised. They only came back when I really reduced my exercise. And then I built it back up to a normal level

this is so true. if you don’t have your period and you’re in recovery from a restrictive eating disorder and continuing to do excessive cardio and weightlifting, then clearly you need to take an extended break !! 5 weeks off of exercise isn’t enough to make your period come back and restore weight

Agree 100%. She could easily cut the intensity and frequency of her workouts in half and be just fine and probably get her period back

I saw my body changing in my legs and I’ve always been insecure about my legs but I try to accept the fact that it’s needed. And weight gain led me to wanting to live life again.

how can I be so proud of someone I’ve never met 💕 so brave and inspiring💪🏻 no one deserves to live in the depths of an ED yet it’s so stigmatised that many people continue to do so. I think it’s amazing that you’re so open and providing a space where people can have a conversation and connect. Keep on going, you’re a rock star❤(also you are so funny, lol’ed when u stuck ur finger up to ED😂)x

I actually found that so far a lot of what i thought was weight gain in my stomach was actually just bloating. Once I went to the bathroom my stomach looked more normal. Don’t spend to much time hyper focusing on your stomach ❤

How long dkd it take for u to start seeing body fat come on? Im twelve days into recovery and eating alot of unsafe foods..aka high carb..some sugars...things i wojldnt allow myself tk eat during restriction...i didnt loose a crazy amount of weight ..just enough to put me under my natural set point and the rapidness in which i lost it has left me wjth loose skin on my face and body...so im tryna fill it back in ...ive just been discouraged cuz i havent seen any notable progress in gaining body fat...my ED started in October 2023 and ended towards end of January...so it was very quick but the rapidness of the weight drop and super caloric restriction did cause me to lose substantial fat...hence the loose skin...whats the normal time frame of gaining back body fat...and will my face fill back out? Im worried ..

speak to a professional or put in the work to find the root of the problem and create yourself a rough meal plan that meets your nutrient needs for the day so you are held accountable and don't go out of control (think of it like a bridge period)

Also, sometimes when u develop "binge eating" is because your body is crying for food and it's the only way in which you can give the nutrients that it's needs. Is more like a biological response from your body due to the restriction

@@geovannyjojoa2840 yeah I don’t know if it’s extreme hunger because it’s been lasting so long but I feel way too out of control for it to be extreme hunger , feels more like binging

@@eveodonnell5732 are you eating what you want? Are you enjoying it? Are you aware of what you eat? Do you eat until the point of feel sick and still eat after that because you "ruined it"? You need to analyze all your thoughts and actions to determine what are you experimenting... I recommend you to watch some videos of "recovered bakes" she talks about the difference between binge eating and extreme hunger

It makes me very sad to hear you say you're "bigger now" when you're clearly super small and very fit and the only difference in your body now is that you have more muscle. You're not bigger at all, you're still very low on fat percentage. I understand it's your body dysmorphia, but girl you are still tiiiny and if you want your cycle back you need to gain fat as well, not just muscle. You also need to stop exercising for a while. I'm studying to become a HA practitioner and many women do EVERYTHING (stop having coffee, eat 2500+ calories or more if they move around a lot, stress down, eat within in 30 min of waking etc) but it's not until they stop exercising that they get their period back.

@@thealiceftw you were implying by when she said “bigger” she meant big- hence you saying she is super small. She is BIGGER. Just because she is still small doesn’t mean she isn’t bigger than she was
