Mas nagpapa sarap daw sa mga street food ay yung mga alikabok at mga usok galing sa mga dumadaang sasakyan. Pati na din ang mga dumadapong mga langaw at ibat ibang insekto na nakaka dagdag flavor daw. Pero masarap naman talaga ang street food lalo na ang paborito ko na isaw at kwek-kwek.

We haven’t tried Chicken Pastil yet. Interestingly, it looked a lot like Machang (Zongzi). Machang is a Filipino adaptation of Chinese Lo Mai Gai or Zongzi, a rice dish made of glutinous rice with different meat fillings and wrapped in a leaf, then steamed or boiled. Machang can be bought in Binondo, Manila.

Magandang araw ng Martes, @TagalogKurt. Masarap talaga ang mga street food ng Pinoy, pero hindi para sa mga mahihina ang sikmura, hahaha. Not to the faint of heart, in other words. Natatandaan ko na pag kinakain ko ang balut, lagi kong tinatanggal yung "bato." Yun ang tawag namin doon sa "eraser" na iniluwa mo. Your pinoy crew should have alerted you on that part. 😀 Still a great entertaining video, so thanks.

It's not fermented duck egg (balut) it's a fertilized duck egg ( this one for 16 days). It usually takes 21 days to hatch. the white hard part should be discarded.

Pass on the kwek kwek. I've tried it so many times, in so many places, and it's been not to my taste each time. I'm simply too white for quail eggs. And as far as the duck egg/balut... also a hard no. I tried that here in Virginia in 2005 to impress my filipina gf at the time. Never. Again.

It would be easier to just speak English rather than Tagalog as most in the Visayas or anywhere outside othe of the metro Manila area. I always recommend to many who visit outside metro Manila to just speak English as Tagalog is not as widely speaken as what they want most to believe. I can see it in the eyes of all you interact with wish you just spoke English as Tagalog is more foreign to them then English. Best to just speak English in Cebu rather than Tagalog.
