Although Pumpkin pie is an American tradition at Thanksgiving and Christmas followed closely by Sweet Potato Pie, Minced meat pie and pecan pie.

For the passion fruit you can make juice from it! You put the seeds and pulp of 3-4 passion fruits in a litre of water. Leave it to soak for a good 12 hours to let the flavour diffuse mixing every couple of hours . Remove the seeds using a strainer. Sweeten to taste. Also, its best cold 🙂🙂. I never liked apple pies, but I love raspberries, so one day I decided to make half and half raspberries and apples. And that thing is so delicious, every time I made one people ask for more. There’s no recipe out there tho, but basically you make a flaky pie crust. And the filling is apples, raspberries (you can take frozen ones), brown sugar, cinnamon powder and a bit of flower to thicken the whole thing. You can probably add a little bit of other spices too like clove and it shouldn’t be bad. Since I’ve never seen that pie anywhere and I invented it and I’m from Quebec, I officially makes this pie a Quebecois dish.

Whenever I heard the song American Pie, I immediately thought of Apple, to me a warm apple pie cooling on a window sill just reminds me of country USA But there's also pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, pecan pie, and as you said key lime pie, all American to me. To me an English pie is shepherds pie, or Rhubarb pie, or pork pies And an Aussie pie is your good old meat pie with sauce. And that filling can come in many flavours too not just plain beef or chicken.

Len Thomas yes it’s crusted top and bottom and has chicken chunks, mixed vegetables and creamy white sauce, you can make it from scratch or buy them frozen from any grocery store, it’s pretty common.

@@heleonard chicken pot pie is a thing through out all the US, not just the south, although popular in the south. i grew up eating it alot and i was born and raised in california. the pie crust in a fruit pie would have added sugar, chicken pot pie crust would not. some dont even put a crust all around it, just puff pastry on top. it just depends on whose making it or how they grew up with it. but if someone asked if i liked meat in my pie i wouldnt automatically think of chicken pot pie, so i would think no as well. when people hear pie their mind usually goes straight to fruit pies or dessert pies. thats probably why they reacted with that answer, haha.

Love your videos! As for the pie: American’s use Granny Smith apples, where Braeburns are used in the UK. Also, though I prefer a shortcrust, our crusts tend to be made with shortening, and not butter.
