Laos's national debt was ok before the covid lockdown. Once border was shut, the government borrowed to fund domestic consumption due to falling export and lost revenue from foreign tourists. Since January 2024, the currency exchange rate is stable and inflation has slowed down. The idea of debt trap is a propaganda against China. Laos also owes money to private investers, Japan, Korea, World Banks and Asian Development Bank. Most of these loans however are borrowed to finance its infracstructures like dams and railway. These investments will acturally contribute to the country economic growth in the future.

Laos is listed as a poor country not because of China's debt, if you count the external debt, then Laos is only 70% of the country's GDP (America has 120% of the country's external debt of GDP or 40 trillion dollars, but America is not considered a poor country and America's main debt is China). Laos should leave the so-called "third world" countries in 2020, but due to the crisis and high inflation the country was postponed to 2026. if you look at the minimum wage adopted in the law in 2015 it was 1,200,000 kip (134 dollars, the dollar exchange rate at the time the law was adopted), now the minimum wage is 2,200,000 kip or a little more than 100 dollars (today the dollar exchange rate on 10/12/2024 buy 21,569 kip, sell 22,001 kip)... before inflation, living standards and GDP per capita, Laos was 7th in ASEAN after (Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, East Timor) or 134th in the world (out of 200 countries), but now Laos has slipped down to 147th place and Vietnam is already overtaking Laos and will leave the so-called "third world" countries in 2022, in this category India is 167th out of 200 countries...Yes, Vietnam has now managed to not only bypass Laos, but also bypass the Philippines in these categories...although I don't think that the Laotians really want to get out of this group of countries, because being in this group of third countries in the world is more profitable for the country's imports and exports

I hope that Laos rise from all the debts and burden free from 🇨🇳

@@rohitbhalla97 yes, if there is less external debt it is easier to control inflation in the country. although 70% is not so much compared to many European countries that have foreign debt from 80% to 100% of their GDP, only Russia has 25% foreign debt and is one of the lowest debt...

@@rohitbhalla97 and the fact that Western propaganda says that Laos is a debt trap for China (that Laos borrows at a low interest rate for the construction of railways). and then this propaganda relay race is carried on by various bloggers who don’t understand anything about what’s really happening in the world. This is a confrontation between China and America and so that China has less influence on the ASEAN countries. you have to understand who owns KZbin, Facebook, TikTok, etc... and 95% of these video media are fakes and manipulations and whoever is trying to convey the truth to people will block...if you don't want to be deceived, then you should know the sources and the original and who the source is from, is it on the official website and the facts from the ministry, etc...fakes are very easy to do, cut and trim, what you need, for example the words "not a killer", if you cut the word "no", then you get "killer" and this has a completely different meaning... and the fact that America is trying not to quarrel with India, do not think that you are partners or friends (remember America has no partners or friends, only colonies), and this is only America using India to confront China (America always knows how to use someone else's hand for its own purposes)
