So nice to see you visiting my neighborhood! Bubbles and I are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the two places you tried, they are our fav's in Campise. Unfortunately, we haven't had the chance to try the other two eateries that were closed, but we will definitely give them a try now. There are plenty of excellent food options in Campsie, and we appreciate your support for our community in Campsie and Canterbury.

In Malaysia we called it "Wah tan hor" instead of Char Hor Fun. Some prefer to eat it with pickled green chilli (the same as the pickle chilli Malaysian eat with Wantan mee).

Char hor fun is best eaten with pickled green chillies... A little bit sourish / tangy. And also try to ask for Yin Yang style which is basically mixed noodles.
@SydneyFoodBoy
@SydneyFoodBoy Жыл бұрын
Oooo interesting. I'll take your advice on the pickled chili's next time thanks! I guess I have to ask for it right? And is yin yang style half egg noodles and half rice noodles?
@beth3371
@beth3371 Жыл бұрын
@@SydneyFoodBoy Yes you can request for the pickled green chillies... Some do have them some don't. Same with requesting for Yin Yang style mixed noodles, some do them some don't. It's half char hor fun rice noodles and half rice vermicelli noodles. With the rice vermicelli noodles, some places deep fried them till crispy, that's the one I like.

@@SydneyFoodBoy My go-to is Hokkien Kia. Never been let down. While you're there, stop by the "Random Chinese Cooked Meats Butcher", corner of Beamish Street and Anzac Mall (It doesn't have a name I think. "Northern Chinese Botcher", next to Joker Cafe), for "pig snout", "random collar bone", pork knuckle and "unidentified delicious cold meats"). Tong Li in the Campsie Centre is worth a visit too, especially their counter of "Cooked unidentified cold cuts". I've only been game enough to try the chicken feet, but I'd love to see someone get a mixed box of stuff and review it.
