You guys are making me so hungry at 2am! When I lived in BKK I had pa-tong-go there all the time it was sooooo good! I miss Yaowarat so much! Many people like to dip pa-tong-go in coffee or simply just sweetened condense milk but you might also notice at some places that sell rice porridge in the morning people like to dip the pa-tong-go in it too. May sound weird but you'd be surprised how good it is.

I’m growing up with Patongo dipping into hot milo or put it into congee. That’s so yummy. I love it when seeing you guys love bualoi because I love it so much while my french boyfriend who love Thai salty food but he never cared for Thai dessert at all 😂😂 it’s a bit annoying to me to know he doesn’t love thai dessert. By the way when you order bualoi you can ask for no egg. However, I prefer to have completely boiled egg instead of half-boiled egg. So most of the time I will ask for Kai-suk which means completely boiled egg. I don’t like when the yolk mixed with the coconut milk.
@suwimolsae-tiew7523 жыл бұрын
Moreover, there is another restaurant that they developed old school Patongo into modern fusion dessert by serving it with ice-cream. It’s so yummy too the restaurant name Patongo cafe and it’s located in Banglumpoo area nearby wat bowonniwet in old town area.

I like half boiled egg in Bualoi. lol. About Patongo or Chinese Dough I was surprised when my sister brought me to Cafe De Monde in New Orleans 30 years ago where I had a cup of coffee and French style Patongo! After my first bite I said "this is Patongo". I wonder who's the one who made this first but China has very long history so I guess it would be of Chinese origin. By the way, French Patongo from that Cafe De Monde in New Orleans' French Quarter tasted so good especially if you have it with Thai custard I think. They had the dough powder package for sale as well there and we actually bought some.

Also, if you go to the Red Cross Hospital in Bangkok, there they have a great snake show at 14h30. Not sure with covid if it is still on. Lupini park and Red Cross Hospital is very close to each other. It's about 400m apart. Just a though, not many people know about it. Wish I was in Thailand like you guys. Enjoy

"Bua Loy" is Thai dessert. It is made of sticky rice flour kneaded with some other stuff like pumpkin or taro rolled into balls. The sticky rice balls are boiled in water and put into sweetened coconut milk. Some people put some egg in it too.
Thai name is PaTongKo + Sangkaya (custard dip). PaTongKo is mostly eaten with coffee or hot soya milk in the morning as breakfast by some people. It is a cheap breakfast, costing about 20 baht (PaTongKo+ soya milk) and you have enough energy until noon. It might not be as delicious but it is cheap and filling.
