Sakura season is hitting Japan and that means an abundance of pink cherry blossom themed street foods! I ended up going to the Kawazu Sakura Festival in Izu at the end of February to see the early blooming cherry blossoms and try all these foods. This festival lasts an entire month and coincides with the blooming of the cherry blossoms over there (which bloom a whole month or so earlier than the predominant species of sakura in the main Tokyo area).
The festival occurs along the Kawazu River and there are a ton of food stalls set up along the way offering a lot of really good foods. Since this is a sakura festival there are a ton of different sakura flavored foods as well and I make my way through all of them! If you're interested in pink foods, trying out street food in Japan, or just want to experience a somewhat calm atmosphere while being surrounded by a ton of sakura trees then this is definitely a place I'd recommend checking out :D
