True , Indian food has similiarity. Somalis and Indians dominated the ancient space trade and spread spices to the rest of the world . ✌️❤️
@Hawd
@Hawd 3 жыл бұрын
We traded with India since ancient times. We used to get our spices from India and resell it to Europe. The Europeans really thought spices came from Somalia so in 1490s, the Portuguese decided to investigate. That's how Vasco da Gama came to Somalia before he annexed parts of India (Goa) upon realising India was the origin. Some years later, Somalis would kill his son.

@@veg7nlif376 Reason??? Too.much hostility and the slavery welfare system. We tried to open miniature shops in West London, (in Asian populated area), the whole area got burnt down. No compensation, nothing. When someday needed a new phone , pop over to the police station, get a complaint letter, that a Somali youth snatched their phone. We decided to open a voluntary organisation in the West of London, to try and tackle the problems the community was facing I and my coworker actually saw children with their school bags, being stopped and being put in lines on a wall, and being photographed by police, when my coworker asked what the problem was, he tried to hide the camera and said to him they were joking with the kids. What can u say about that??? I wld call criminalising these kids, even before they become adults From what I can see Somalis in US are doing far much better.

I have Somali Spice Mix (Xawaash) in my pantry cabinet when I was working in Abu Dhabi. And I always used it to cook chicken stew. And I am loving the exotic taste of it. Btw it is unusual for an overseas Filipino worker like me who loves to eat something that is a non-Filipino dish. Because most of my Filipino flatmates will only eat Filipino foods but I eat any foods from any part of the world.

I had goosebumps while watching it. That's my culture, my beloved people. I pray that one day our country will be 100% peace and we all come back to invest in our country and take up the economy of Somalia. I'm now in Mogadishu but soon i will be leaving to Canada and hope to visit this market and taste those yummy foods even though here in the Somali capital the food are more delicious because they have all the ingredients to use. For those who are reading my comments May God SWT give you good health and a good life, here in the world and the hereafter

Hi Sonny if you are reading this I just wanna say that I enjoy watching your channel/videos very much. You are open to learn about other people's culture, tradition and even their religion. I love how this channel has so many elements from religion to history and many more. You are also a funny person in your own way. Your sense of humour and how you deliver it is what makes me not want to skip your videos despite it being a one or two hours of duration!!! At times I need to remind myself that this is a KZbinr doing what he loves and not the typical food documentary that I always watch on TV. Props to you and your team for making the channel an amazing one. Keep it up and good luck for your future projects!

I'm an Indian. When I was about 6-7 years old, I really wanted to have meat at lunch in school. But usually in India, bringing non veg food to school is frowned upon due to our multicultural society. So I had my grandmother fill the samosas with ground meat. This way the meat stayed mostly un recognizable and hidden from view. I didn't know I was having a sambusa during lunch break! 😅
