We brought home something we've never had before and can't wait to try it out! Should be a fun time eating our first dragonfruit!

So interesting how Isreal guessed the inside would be black! He somehow knew that there would be a stark contrast to the colorful outside. Smart boy! Hehe

The Golden dragon fruit typically have more flavor. They are much sweeter.

My son (9) and I try a new food every week. Last year we tried dragon fruit and it’s now his favorite! When it’s the proper ripeness it tastes like a cross between a kiwi and a grape and it’s really sweet! But a lot of times it is kind of flavorless. I imagine if we were able to try them fresh picked that they would be very good. We also enjoyed the starfruit, mangoes,and pomegranates that we tried!

Have you tried Jack Fruit? The fruit is the size of a watermelon so if you can some slices at your grocery store, that would be the time to try it.

@@skybluewater great idea! I haven’t found one yet. Living in the Midwest, it can be hard to find tropical fruits. Especially in winter months!

Had a neighbor that grew it and it is a tall spindly type of cacti or succulent. When properly ripened before picking they taste like Kiwi . But pick it too soon, for longer shelf life, they taste like nothing.

We have a lot here in the Philippines. Dragon Fruit is one of my faves too. It’s good to our blood circulation.

I like dragon fruit. It’s like a refreshing texture and taste, but I don’t like the price

The white ones taste sweeter. They have a flavor if not picked to soon. As in most fruits, have a better flavor when not picked to soon.

I tried some for the first time the other day. It was red inside and didn’t have much of a flavor. Be careful if you eat too much of the red at once - when you go to the bathroom your pee might be red or pink😂

Never tried it, Google says it can be described as a mix between Kiwi and pear, maybe it wasn't ripe enough??

We tried dragon fruit once cuz it looked cool and I had never seen it before. Not one person in my house liked it lol. It was a no for us! It does taste like nothing so maybe it was a texture thing for us idk!

Yeah not a huge fan of the texture. If it was flavorful then it wouldn't be too bad

There is a kiwi grape flavoured red inside one that is subtle too. To get full flavour of dragon fruit they need to be well ripened and chilled not room temperature

I Love dragon fruit. True white dragon fruit doesn't taste like anything but red dragonfruit is sweeter.

I had red dragon fruit for the first time the other day. I didn’t think it had much flavor. Maybe it was not ripe enough!

Im not a fan of fresh dragon fruit. It doesn't have a flavor to be either but frozen is delicious 😋

That is because they can freeze properly plant ripened fruit before it rots. Neighbor used to give us lot's that he could not sell fast enough at the farmers market because the short shelf life.
