⭐️ Just to be precise, “pasalubong” is a gift to someone back home- it can be a souvenir (like you were probably told) but it can be any small item or even food or snacks from the place you visited. It isn’t for you- that my friend would be a souvenir. 😉

Regarding the green algae, they say it actually helps make the sand finer. That's why on those areas or beaches that don't have the, the sand is also coarser... Been to Boracay back when it wasn't yet as developed, and even then the algae were already there. Don't mind it too much. It's just prevalent during summer i believe.

It is so unbelievable to have green algeas in summer season. Usually they come in rainy seasons. It so sores the eyes to see them. I'm not there, but I am disappointed as well. Sorry for your trip there which ended up maybe not in the right time. I also know how expensive it is there. So, this might have cost you a lot there, Mergim. Please just find ways to enjoy yourself there and make your trip there worthwhile anyway. Peace! Stay safe and drive smart, ok. We don't want you to end up like what Mike has had recently with his motorcycle accident.

Although Algae is natural phenomenon in beaches in Boracay, However, too much algae or cyanobacteria grow at once or if they make toxins, they can harm people, animals, and the environment. There are possibilty that some establishments got through the inspection and still violates the law when it comes to sewerage system.

Probably the reason why prices of motorbike rentals are expensive because Boracay tries to implement the usage of electric bikes (which is eco-friendly). In order to discourage the use of petrol-powered motorbikes then you have to pay the cost
