@@EAGLINWRX cause the kitchen is usually already being clean an hour before closing. Usually the dishwasher is already mopping the floor and the chefs are putting away items. Once it time to close all they have to do is throw away the trash and leave. When you come in last minute then it screws up all the organization that already happen. Having worked in the kitchens this is always the common factor in all kitchens. They start to clean up before closing so that they can leave. Remember that they have to stick with the scheduled they were given. Usually you're given only 15 mins after closing for the rest of your shift

As a server myself, sometimes you stacking the plates, messes up my flow. I have a system and more often than not, I know they're trying to be nice, but they do it all wrong and I have to reorganize everything because they stacked the forks and napkins and left over food inbetween the plates so now it's like I'm trying to carry this leaning tower of shit while smiling going, "oh thank you so much :)" But, yeah. 45% tip would be cool though

I used to bus tables so I know exactly how to stack plates and cups. Put all the left overs on the smallest plate, have that plate at the top of the stack, put all the drinks/ice in one cup, stack all the other cups under that one, and optionally, put all the silverware in a separate cup. Unless it's a large party, you can usually do that in a single trip

Have worked on both and restaurants are worse, also, from my experience your boss will never stand up for you if a customer is rude, if my boss won't stand up for me, why should I stand up for his business? Problem with customer service is that 1) People are awful and will abuse their customer position, 2) Employees in Customer Service can easily be replaced and your boss knows it.

I think that's mostly because some people will just throw utensils and trash and food in the mix you gotta like scrape all the trash n food onto the smallest plate on top pour the drinks together stack the cups and put the silverware on top of the larger plate beneath the smaller plat or in another cup depending on party size. I'd know I was a waiter for 2 days.

I worked at restaurants for like 7 years and half of the staff acted like working at a restaurant was like being in a foxhole in Vietnam. Wildly over dramatic.
