We had our best luck fishing in the very northeast corner by the dam section, as far as largemouths were concerned. There's a small point just to the right of the boat launch, and it's a quick drop off. Just fished it with weightless texas rigged senkos. My father hooked into a nice 5 pounder but lost him at the boat. We also got into some crappie directly across from the launch. We had no luck at all in the north-west "arm" of the reservoir. I have heard that this reservoir is a trophy walleye fishery, especially on ice. When we were there last, quite a few guys were trolling up and down the southern end in the deeper 20-30ft water. Not sure how they made out though. From the scattered reports I've seen, some good walleyes have been taken outta here in the past. Not sure how recent though. We think our trouble was related to just how crystal clear the water is over there. By comparison, Moraine is quite a bit more stained. We also had some issues with some pleasure boaters... doing constant laps full bore, pretty much a constant wake. That combined with the clear water, and the bite was tough. Oh well, what're ya gonna do.
