I've been driving my Kenworth T680 with a Cummins X15 Efficiency and this transmission. It's been crazy how efficient this transmission is at shifting and keeping me climbing up hills even with my not so spectacular final drive ratio of 2.93:1

As a driver that's had to drive a truck with one of these crapomated trans, I have a lot to say about it and none of it is good. So for now I'll just say, may the fleas of 10.000 camels infest the groin area of everyone involved with the creation, development, testing and okaying these engineering disasters.

I would buy a new 2020 high output ram cummins if it had a Eaton manual in it since they no longer offer a manual for the 6.7 cummins. Always felt the manuals are just stronger transmissions. Every automatic I ever owned had to be rebuilt and non of the manuals did.
@fmccloud4 жыл бұрын
This transmission is a manual. It’s an AMT (Automated Manual Transition) this 12 speed is just as reliable as any of Eaton manual.
@Jon-O.4 жыл бұрын
Alex Rolli agreed but the module that engages the shift would probably break on me with my luck so I would stick to the hand shakers. I’ve burned every auto shift tranny I ever had.

@@Jon-O. then you either got a heavy foot, too small of a truck for whatever your hauling, or you own a pos dodge pickup. Medium duty trucks like a T300 get a 6.7 and a allison 2000 or 3000. Sometimes a 4000. Lot stronger than the garbage 68rfe or 48re.
@Jon-O.2 жыл бұрын
@@oldschoolrodz9745 the rfe are junk. I have a friend who owns a hotshot business for ten years he said the Aisin and Allison tranny's are the only ones that will go 300 to 400 thousand miles then need to be rebuilt. He said the manuals like the G56 is the only one that does better up to double mileage oh and just a side note he uses Amsoil products in all his trucks. As for me I'm hard on automatics. Oh and my pos dodges always did better than my Gm and chevy or ford must be why my friend sticks with Rams in his hotshot business too. Because pos dodge trucks run longer, stronger. Just my experience with pos Rams.

The 6.7 engine is also usually shot by 400k. They either start dropping valves or the pistons crack. Seen enough nv5600 transmissions with destroyed syncros. Yeah I'll still take the 5600 over a 68rte, but after 400k all bets are off. And we're just talking about the driveline. Dodge can shove it with there garbage steering geometry causing death wobble in as little as 20k miles.

Why does is coast to down shift? Constantly shifting between 11 and 12 even on the slightest incline. It down shifted when I turned into a headwind of 1mph.

This transmission better then ishift?
@robindabank40892 жыл бұрын
No ishift are really good you don’t even feel them shifting and these guys always have issues
@giberish92 жыл бұрын
Marginally better. The I-shifts eat spigot bearings and the stupid oil cooler hoses are leak prone. The endurant atleast has a twin countershaft. Other than that, they both tend to go down at around 450k miles. Clutches in both are real similar.
@prisr31 Жыл бұрын
Yea they are so good that when. I get. The opportunity to switch it to manual. I’ will. For sure. If some one. Want my transmisión. Go ahead. 😅😅😅😅😅

I miss the good old standard transmission that's part of being a truck driver. There just to much crap to break down on these automated trans now days
@dk30622 жыл бұрын
Internal wiring sounds like a problem for repair which is inevitable.
@SimplexSM Жыл бұрын
There's always wiring inside a auto trans. Even the 4speed on my old '99 Dakota had wiring in it.

Worst transmission, my 2020 kw t680 with Eaton endurance 12 spd failed at 501k miles. Costed me $22k, and almost 4 weeks of down time.

Why is the paccar ?? they are saying it’s their Transmission ??? Lol
@91cblove7 жыл бұрын
Mihail Gujumit same as the paccar video. Who are they trying to fool?

They think where are the dumbest and they are the smartest lol and I think they only going to offer With cummins engine :(
@dufonrafal5 жыл бұрын
It is the same as the Paccar, both are actually Eaton transmissions. The Paccar is optimized for the MX engines, the Endurant for the Cummins.

@@dufonrafal your exactly right! That's why this transmission has 2 different names. Some people just don't get it.

It’s a junky Transmission, I ordered one and the engine brake is a crappie one , I should ordered with a Allison Transmission:(

That's not how engine brakes work. Jesus Christ. -_-"
@Ajallday10105 жыл бұрын
Brother do you even know what an engine brake is? I'd excuse you for maybe meaning a clutch brake but it's an automatic trans it doesn't have that, what in hillbilly hell are you talking about
@waynenorbreyjr93715 жыл бұрын
@@Ajallday1010 Yeah, engine brake would be part of the engine. The automated or automatic transmissions will down shift accordingly giving engine braking a stronger feel. Then again some engine brakes aren't worth a dang.
@lawsondj12444 жыл бұрын
@@Ajallday1010 I think its just an automatically actuated trans. It still has a clutch assembly so it would still have a clutch brake or inertia brake.
