I’ve been going to Edisto for 2 weeks every year and it’s become my favorite place on Earth. And believe it or not, Edisto is home to Tortuga’s, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s home cooked Mexican food with a low country twist! It’s breakfast and lunch menus are INCREDIBLE!!!

@@EatSeeRV yes it does. The scenes where you are walking on the driftwood are very cool. I incorrectly thought it was fragile and would snap. Not implying your heavy (your not!) Very will done from an artistic viewpoint. Lighting was perfect

Edisto is an absolute beautiful area with amazing residents and visitors. Even in the summer when all the campgrounds are full and houses are rented it is no where near as packed as other local beaches. Please remember if you visit Edisto runs on it's own time so please don't get in a hurry bc no one else is. Also remember we only have one grocery store so in the summer give yourself a little extra time to shop and check out, last but not least please bring all your medications if you take any bc there is no Dr. office on the beach and the ER is about 45 minutes away.

People forget how remote Edisto is in comparison to going to Folly or Myrtle. But it's why I liked my visit and look forward again. Hopefully it stays more on an SC secret. Glad the laws are there to protect it from being over developed. There are enough golf courses and resorts on other islands to make up forit.

As others have said, the storytelling/cinematography here is amazing. I grew up in SC. I have a photo of a baby (me, just past my first birthday in 1958) on a blow up raft in the surf. We spent my Dad’s vacation time each year at Edisto for the next 12 years. Very good memories. Thank you so much for this video!

Oh never been to Edisto?!?! I've only been once, but my sister and mother rant and rave on it and have since I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s. TBH, I don't got to MB unless it's N. MB. I only visit HHI for family there. I go to all the small beaches instead!!!

What a beautifully done video. Edisto has long been a best kept secret with those of us who are native South Carolinians. Many of us continue to visit Edisto for summer vacations over decades, have memories of childhood vacations and are now taking our children and grandchildren there. I hope Edisto never goes the route of modern tourist and stays a small, well kept and cherished community. Everything about it is magical and like stepping back in time. Myrtle Beach is exciting. Charleston and Savannah have found their place. Edisto is for the beach lovers that want to relax, experience vacation as it's been for a long time and don't have a need for flashing lights, tons of people and do have a need to go home rested and refreshed. I'm so glad you found and enjoyed Edisto Island. Y'all come back and visit when you can. Safe travels to you.

I have frequented Edisto since I was in elementary school (I'm now 41), and I must say that you absolutely have made a masterpiece here. It is so difficult to capture the beauty of the island, its creatures, and its people, but you did it and did it well. Seriously, thank you for doing this... it's such a great (and I'm convinced will be timeless) tribute to Edisto.

Oh snap! You’ve let the best kept secret out of the bag! Edisto is one of my very favorite places! I love this island, and have spent many, many vacation dollars here. It is like going back in time with the beauty of the low country, but it’s not for everyone. No amusement parks, little to no fast food places, just little local places with so much charm that beauty that you can’t help but relax.

As a native South Carolinian, Edisto has always been my family's favorite home away from home. For any Yankees (non-natives), if you can't stand heat or bugs DO NOT visit any time from May to September. After the Carolina Wren, mosquitos are the second most popular "bird"...🤫 Edisto is South Carolina's hidden gem.

Hopefully Edisto holds out. It's far away from downtown and you can't really build luxury homes out there like every other beach and borough in the city. I call it the "Great Local Relocation." Multi-million dollar homes going up everywhere ... John's Island and Wadmalaw are next to manifest into everything Mt. Pleasant is.

In addition I just want to add that I LOVED your videos with all the hikes and parks up in Michigan from a few months back. I had no idea the state had so so many beautiful parks for hiking, and that gorgeous shoreline along the lakes. I had never even thought of adding MI to our bucket list, it’s on there now, for sure. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and thank you so much for your content and for all you do to share your travels with us, including all the great restaurants as well. I actually live on this island, no joke so I searched it up on KZbin to see if people Vlogged about it. Marsh hen mill used to be called geechi boy, and if you are gonna get grits from there be sure to get the “unicorn” grits, they are really good, they are actually just purple corn grits. If you are gonna go to the beach with little kids, make sure to go to the sound side which is the farthest end of the beach, there are hardly any waves, lots of shells, not too windy, however there is sometimes a rip current so be careful.

Great video. Been coming to Edisto for 40 years and love it. Our only request is for people to come and enjoy, but also know that part of the charm is the pace and the lack of lots of entertainment, pharmacy, chain restaurants, large stores. There are other beach areas with all that - come and enjoy Edisto for what it offers and don't demand what it doesn't! Yes, Botany Bay is one of the most amazing places to visit. I never get tired of visits there any time of the year, any weather.

This is my favorite little beach town in the world! Grew up visiting with my great grandmother in Egret point, my grandmother kept the tradition going and we still go back every year. See you in a few weeks Edisto! 🏝

Hey guys, again amazing footage and history of our area/Edisto. Sad to say, we live 30 min ish from there and only been there once in the last 15 plus years. Next time by, swing in for dinner.

Hey, former Edisto Island resident here! An amazing place for sure...We called it EdisSlow as it was hard to get things done in a timely manner.😎 Fishing & relaxing is a art form. So I recommend buying a completely move in property, rather than build!!!! Have a steady income when you get there. Be prepared jobs are umm well seasonal. It takes time to be trusted and fully embraced by the locals, sometimes years. Be honorable and straight up with people, these people know human nature, their ranks expand 10 fold every year, like it or not. This is considered a family vacation beach. Folly Beach or Isle of Palm are for the party crowds. EdisSlow was not for me. Love to visit, give me the urban life.

We are in NC right now heading to SC next week and this is one of the places I was researching! I just didn’t know what all it had to offer - was only as far as looking at campgrounds. Perfect timing & fantastic video!

We’ve been to Botany Bay twice now. The first time we lucked out and came at the right time. The second time was about a year later and when we were leaving the tide had risen. Fortunately, it wasn’t too high and I was wearing flip flops. But we loved it so much we made it a point to make time to stop on our way through the second time

This is from a local book your Edisto state park site at least 4 months in advance. Even in the winter it stays booked. Edisto is an awesome place to visit.
