1:50 if your IPD doesn't fit one of the three settings it is possible to get the lenses between two of the settings, I've been using mine between 2 and 3 for the best clarity and I haven't noticed any issues so far

If your IPD is larger than the maximum setting, you can shove something between the lenses to push them apart further (e.g. a small rectangle of cardboard). I was having severe issues god rays, blurriness and-out of-focus-ness until I did this, which pretty much eliminated them. The Quest 2 is able to differentiate between IPDs outside of the 1/2/3 options because of good hardware/software design, so it compensates for these other configurations without issues.

@@NicheAsQuiche I am having same issue which was hard for me to describe. Not necessarily blurry as I can still read all the words but yeah almost like a glare.. or yes god rays haha. You stuck it between 2 and 3? Did you use that cardboard trick

Something I noticed in the video was, you mentioned the browser for KZbin and National Geographic. There is however an app for both of those experiences allowing for better feeling video and audio, as well as access to accounts and comfort settings. The Video is really good though.

The Anker power banks are fantastic, I use them for Vlogging so no surprise they work well with the VR. Good advice! As I think for the next 4 months we will be hit with 101 overpriced gadgets until there are more manufacturers in the game. Which will see things like Silicon inserts drop from $14 to $2 as an example.

Thanks for the comment - yeah what I find at the moment is there are some cheaper products but it’s hard to know if the quality is any good and they aren’t that much cheaper that you’d take a chance. It would be great to have a solid brand give us a cheaper alternative and as you say give it a few months and there will be more choice.

Late response but a helpful tip adding onto his tip for adjusting view and strapping on the headset for usage Use 2-3 small horizontal lines Infront of you within any headset to help adjust the viewpoint, having it placed in the center of your vision for each eye is the best option to ensure whatever you are doing is clear, on the quest 2 you might even see the screen door effect if you focus long enough

If you are getting the cheaper option you should probably go the extra bit and get the model with more storage as 64gb can fill up really fast if you are a hardcore vr gamer

I'm getting my very first VR headset the Oculus Quest 2 and these tips were very helpful. Definetly cleaning those lenses with a microfiber towel and getting a better headstrap because I heard the standard strap is terrible I don't want headaches

I haven’t had a problem with the head strap but probably depends on how long you use it - I’d love to try out an alternative head strap to see if it’s any better
