Hey is there a option for fast recording just like with hand tracking on your right hand where u hold your right hand and you choose to start/stop recording?

It's not a single click away but it's still pretty easy to get to, just do this... press the Oculus button on your right controller. Click the Share icon. And then click the Record icon. Alternatively, if you have voice commands set up then you just have to double press the oculus button and then say 'start recording.' Hope that helps and let me know how you go.

I am very new with the quest , have tried to add my sofa but in the experimental tab its only 2 option to choose from ,to reset experimental, Wi-Fi refresh and some sort of swipe off but cant find the sofa

It used to be in the experimental tab in your system settings. However, for me at least, it's disappeared now. No end of turning experimental features on and off and hard resetting the device seems to make it appear again. That is the problem with any experimental feature as Meta can remove them at any point. It's a shame as I think it's a great option to have. It would have made it as a tip in this video had they not removed it. You might find that it comes back again. Only time will tell.

As of v39 of the quest firmware, multitasking is no longer an experimental feature. Features often move out of this tab once Meta have matured them. To access Multitasking, you'll now have to click and hold the supported app icons that appear on the universal menu, then drag them to either side of your open browser window.

No charger should be pressing the triggers of the controllers down. Sounds like they're not being docked properly.

What happens when I place the controllers in the holders, the side triggers will depress. This dock charges the headset only. I guess another way of asking is, if I depress the triggers while not playing a game, will this drain the battery?

To be honest, I don't know if it would drain the battery or not. It certainly could depending upon how the controllers are programmed. In my opinion, no stand or holder, regardless of product, should be pressing in buttons when you are holstering your product. That's just bad design.

There’s a number of things you can try. The easy ones first are remove the batteries, wait a minute, and then put them back in. You can also try holding down on the stick and then blow into it. That could dislodge any dust that might be causing it. Also try repairing the controllers with your headset. If all else fails then you’ll need to dismantle the controller and clean the joystick with some cleaning solution. If you’re in warranty though you can also contact Meta directly with the fault and they might just replace the controller for you. Hope that all helps.

I charged my oculus with the charger it came with and the charging port still melted although if it does happen you can just contact the support people and they will have you mail it back and they'll send you a refurbished headset

Yes. Once you buy a game you can delete it and reinstall it a later date if you want which is handy if you start to run out of storage on your headset.

A word of advice, do not use a lock pattern. If you mess up and forget what the pattern you set was, you will have to do a factory reset and you will find that all the games you installed will have to be downloaded again. In my opinion it is not worth the bother.

That almost happened to me very recently! I couldn’t remember it to save my life. I was searching for any way of getting it back without a factory reset, of course no luck. I have no idea how, but one morning I put the headset on And I made a star shaped pattern… voilà! Either I had help or I just stupidly stumbled across it. THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE!

You’re right in that most ISP’s give away routers now. The days of a seperate modem from your ISP then connected to a seperate router are long gone. As long as you have a router than supports 5GHz wifi you should be ok with that.

Be careful of micro scratches on the lenses as a paper towel isn't the smoothest of surfaces. A camera lens cloth or sunglasses cloth or similar would be a better option.
