I'm so glad I found this video! I almost gave up on auto dosing. I set up my doing pump last week and a few days after putting it online my Calcium levels went off the chart. (500+). Turns out I had a little siphon happening so it was dripping Calcium all day for about three days. Going to covert it over to RO lines ASAP!

Thank you so much for this video. I just had a pump head fail for that reason and stopped dosing alkalinity and long story short, I tested my alk and it read 6.1 dKh which basically killed all my SPS in my system.

Quick question...How do you know that it's not drawing in air? You can't see through the blue RO tubing. Why didn't you use clear?

Hi, quick question they sell check valve elbows on Amazon. Is it better just to get the straight line check valve? Or will the elbow check valve work just as good?

I just started using a dosing pump on my planted tank to make life more consistent. I like the idea and will be using it. I’ll just change for rigid acrylic tubing. It’s alittle expensive unless you have short runs and you could also use flexible tubing in places it’s not seen or for bends. I just bought 12 12” acrylic air lines for 14 on amazon if anyone is curious. I like to see the liquid in the lines and it’ll make straighter runs if you’re extra ocd about that.

Awesome video and great tips! I noticed that you are dosing the Red Sea Trace Colors with your dosing setup. I dose the same in my tank, but I currently use silicon tubing with my doser. I’m needing to flush the tubing for the Trace color B (Potassium+) about every month since the dosing liquid crystallizes within the tubing. Have you found this to still be the case while using your RO tubing approach?

Hey great to hear! It’s a great product. It crystallizes on the exit but not inside. Since it stays primed the inside is always perfectly fine. So in other words this upgrade will fix your issue :)

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to make this. I had requested it when i saw your other vid and i figured you forgot to make it but i was wrong. Thank god too i was just about to give up on my coral box doser, it has been driving me crazy with air bubbles! I just started this project today and so far so good. I have one question though, i have black ro tubing, how can you tell if air is not creeping in? With my other tubing it was clear so it was easy to see. With this i will have no idea... i did purchase the John Guest check valves as well...

Hey man great it came out just in time :) you will Never see the bubbles. For you in that doser after a week of running do manual dose of .5 mil or so. If liquid. Ones out immediately that means it is good :) trust me you will be fine especially with the John guest ones.

Make sure you use the John Guest check valve. The cheap amazon ones need more pressure than the doser can make.

@EatSleepReed. I have the same tank and run with 1 hydra 26hd. I like you back of the tank covered with gsp. I'm trying to do that and glued 2" gsp frag about 3 weeks ago but it's not spreading??? Do u think it needs flow cuz right not it's getting between low-medium flow.

Anytime you move a Coral give it at least 1-2 month befor your can expect growth. Remember this hobby is all about patience :)

Used those valves for my kalkwasser reactor and they are awful. The five of them lasted 1 month and a few days. Good luck

You can use Y connectors to gather all the outputs. So you will have only ond tube running up to the tank instead of several

The check valves you are showing are the WORST. You can't blow or suck through them. I thought they were broken so I took my 150psi air hose and that did blow through them but there's no way a normal pump will push through those things.
