Old gangster rappers had class about them. The way they carried themselves. Then way they spoke to people outside of the “game” as they call it. Respectful manner, articulate well. And the only people they dislike are the ones who tried to keep them down (which back then was a lot) Nowadays rappers say they have it harder than ever, they say stupid things, rap about topics that don’t matter, have no drive, mumble and act gangster even though most of them only become gangster or hood after they become famous I think people have misunderstood my point.

It should be noted that Ice Cube & Eazy were definitely on good terms before Eazy passed. Cube rushed down to see him after he saw on the news that EZ got sick & needed to be admitted to the hospital. EZ wasnt allowed visitors so Cube rented a hotel room near by & waited. Unfortunately the last time they both spoke was months before he passed. In an interview Cube mentioned how EZ had reached out to him & they both were discussing the possibility of making new music together again (even though Cube put out his diss track "No Vaseline" already). From what Cube also remembered, was that EZ wasnt interested in having any problems or beef w/Ice Cube. His main issues & concerns at that time was w/DRE and his new affiliation as co creator of Death Row Records (along w/his up & coming label mate Snoop Dogg & of course the big bad CEO Suge Knight).

@@thesportsfeinmy issue is that the very same oldheads that deify Eazy and Dre are the exact same people who will turn around and in the same breath say that Drake isn’t a real emcee and has never written his own bars (ignoring the vast majority of his catalogue and all of the writing that he’s contributed for other artists behind the scenes) purely because he used Quentin Miller’s reference tracks on Views. Drake would write circles around Eazy, but he never gets his flowers by out-of-touch oldheads, while Eazy is heralded as one of the GOATs despite having literally zero writing ability whatsoever. To be clear, I’m not in the camp of discrediting any emcee due to having writers. I just think there’s a very clear double standard because of an anti-mainstream music bias.

In the eighties if your parents owned a restaurant you owned it too. But not many children at 15 had their own houses, I knew kids at 17-18 with their own apartments their parents got them but still it was “theirs” so when you asked about the houses their parents got them they still said “my apartment” but explaining the story you’d think people would focus on the point. But in your generation I guess being correct or saying Smart Dad is all they get out of telling a fun story. The internet for you. Still a great memory, I still drive by it time to time. And when they showed it in the movie NWA it was still nostalgic

Ice Cube said in an interview that soon as he found out through the news that Eazy checked into the hospital he rushed down & checked into a hotel near the hospital to go visit him. For whatever reason he didn't get to see Eazy I believe bc he wasn't allowed visitors at the time. Months before Eazy got sick he spoke to Cube on the phone & they discussed possibly doing some new music together. Keep in mind this was after Cube went solo from NWA & he already released the diss track No Vaseline. Per Cube, Eazy said he wasn't worried about the record & wanted to put any animosity between the them to rest. Eazy apparently told Cube that beefing with him was the last thing on his mind. He was worried at the time with his ongoing issues with Dre & now Suge and Death Row. Lol
@Liverpool5095
@Liverpool5095 7 ай бұрын
No Vaseline was 5 years before Eazy died. A lot of people make the mistake of compressing history. This interview was in 93. They didn't actually see each other until early 95. But Eazy was claiming he was cool with Cube from 93 onwards in multiple interviews in that year. The no Vaseline track was in 1990/1. So by 93, Eazy was over it and beefing with Dre by that point.

Just because you don't gang bang doesn't mean you don't know what's up. Like myself growing up in a gang infested area but not being an idiot follower into a gang doesn't mean you are automatically somebody like Mr Roger's.
