Hi there! Thanks for your video! Do you have the measurements for the shim ?? where can i find one ? where did you get the shims ? Toyota diler they need to know whats the exact measurement of the shim !!
@ChaseRacebox4 ай бұрын
The specific measurement depends on your transmission. There are many different sizes. This transmissions I added around .008" shim but it's from a stack of shims I use for various other types of gearbox work. If you don't have your shim size, you can use modeling clay without a shim installed, bolt the case together, then disassemble and measure the modeling clay and that gets you close. You probably want to go up about 0.004"-0.006" from what you measure

@ChaseRacebox4 ай бұрын
Yes sir! They're really not too bad to do. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any aftermarket gears for the e350/351 transmissions. Best bet is to swap in the e153 (something I'll be doing soon)

My manual- 2011 scion tc has an issue on transmition. Bearings sounds crazy. How can I contact your shop?
@mememaster81832 ай бұрын
Super informative! I'm gonna have to do this on my 2014 Scion tC in the near future. What were the symptoms like? I'm getting a slight whine that goes away when the clutch is depressed, and is quite loud when on the gas in gear. Furthermore, when barely feathering the gas the car will "jerk" in low gears, kind of like *gas* *skip* *gas* *skip*, did you notice any of these symptoms before the repair? Or should I be looking at the intake system as well?
@ChaseRacebox2 ай бұрын
@@mememaster8183 Thanks! The symptoms of this bearing failing will not affect the way the car runs & drives. It will start making noise though and it goes away when clutch is pressed in. It will keep getting worse until it totally trashes the trans

you said that the xB makes around 600 HP (saw the post through the forums). does the EB60 handle that amount of power?
@ChaseRacebox4 ай бұрын
I do not know. I have not ran an eb60 in a personal vehicle. I think it would hold pretty close to that t without issue though. But like any transmission, the way it's driven has a lot more to do with it. For example launching a stock power car at a prepped drag strip on slicks at 7k rpm would likely break something

hey man, i got a 2014 with classic input shaft bearings growl, do you have the part number for the black bearing? and anything else i should replace when going at it? no issues shifting with her just the noise. thank you
@ChaseRacebox3 ай бұрын
@@marmiebrad5737 The Toyota part number is 90363-35080. You might have to replace the oil funnel and shim as well, I believe I mention that in the video. You will have to open it first to verify.
@corry86094 ай бұрын
I think my synchros are going bad in my transmission. I have a 2016 scion tc. No input shaft bearing noise yet. Is it just better to replace the whole transmission for this type of issue. I see your in DFW too. Should have you check it out for me 😂
@ChaseRacebox4 ай бұрын
I could definitely take a look at it! What is it doing? These can be a little costly to rebuild but probably not as much as the cost of s new trans. That would be the time to install the new bearing too
@Jesppyy20 күн бұрын
Even the brand new bearings that you buy from Toyota that supposedly "fixed" that issue still have a 100% failure rate.
@ChaseRacebox20 күн бұрын
@@Jesppyy That's not correct. Green seal bearings all fail. The black seal bearings are good to go.

How did you get the new bearing on without putting it in the press?

A socket that fits the inner race of the bearing and lightly tap into place with a hammer. Much faster than using a press and doesn't hurt a thing
