Hello friends, I have since gotten my refund back. Thanks to Ebay. FYI, there are many type of Electricians out there. Just because I am not familiar with this type of electronic doesn't mean that I am not an electrician. I work on HVAC, not welders, plasma cutter, and or computers. Dumb racist remarks will be reported and removed. I have reported and removed my share of racist remarks.

Who’s making dumb remarks. ?? They can Fck off. Douchebags. They aren’t electricians They aren’t anything except living with their mommies trying to collect welfare.

The trouble is, you didn't isolate the power before removing the cover, usually step 1 for working on anything, you weren't using an insulated screw driver, which I would think someone in that line of work would have to hand and you didn't know what a cable tie/zip tie was called which I would have thought you'd have come into contact with in any avenue of electrical work, now I'm not saying you're not an electrician but these are just things I noticed. That being said, thanks for the video as I'm in two minds whether to buy one of these and it was nice to be shown around the workings of it without having to buy one first, also I'm glad you got it sorted out, happy cutting!

I have this Cutter for last 4 years. Only problem I had was with a on/off switch. I have it on 220, hard wired as leads goes directly to switch and I those switches are rated only for 220 V/16 amp. No other issues. Just play with air and you can cut mid steel up to 1/2 in.

Yea, you have to solder that lose cap. The lose thingy looks like an X2 capacitor. Those are mainly used for suppression to prevent a lot of noise in the device or other devices on the circuit. It looks like the people who manufactured it had a cold solder joint or missed solder joint. Meaning they didn't do a good job soldiering it. Who knows whatelse they missed on the boards. That clicking sound is probably a relay controling a gas valve or the gas engaging a pressure switch. I agree with you assessment of changing out the power cable with a thicker gauge. Make it all around safer. Even 1 amp is lethal so yes it is not wise for people who are untrained poking around in a high voltage high current device such as that. Sorry it didn't work out.
@BITTYBOY1213 жыл бұрын
Great video !, Just be careful with those big capacitors as they hold massive voltage that can give you a nasty electric shock even with the machine disconnected from the power supply !, so always take safety precautions when they are big caps involved.

That thing a may gig is a capacitor it is to run very low power AC into the circuit too for near pulsating DC this improves the power current level. The heat sensor reads the peak current that is ready to use. So! When this earlier mentioned capacitor, one that has one end disconnected still even after you pushed it back in, is still not connected it needs to be resoldered back into its circuit, this will cause the power supply board to make higher current which the tells the overheat circuit that it is not overheated the yellow light should stay off. After you have put it back together so, the thing will probably work correctly if there is not and transistors blew out while trying to pass to low volt-amps as it tries to pass full wattage. if this above does not work then there is blown transistors on that bottom rear board.

At least one of you knows what your looking at ... how many have called it a capacitor?

Sorry about your dilemma. I sure you've learned a lesson here. First you dont ever agree to self diagnose anything especially something electrical you should already know this. The fact the seller had a list of possible causes just means your not the first one to be emailing them with problems. Next whenever you purchase something thats DOA contact the seller immediately and demand a RMA and a prepaid shipping label. If they tell you you have to pay for return shipping mention this item is sold as new not as is. If you still getting run around contact ebay. I have over 5 hundred ebay purchases over the years and have never been had. Lastly make sure you read the item listing carefully prior to purchase. Good luck in the future

Dear The Other Guy, Not trying to piss you off but, You plugged the air compressor in but you need to Build Air Pressure over 30 PSI. That is a must and I see you did not do that in the first try where you said, at the 1 min 32 sec mark "IT DIED". There is a pressure switch that allows the circuit deliver cooling air and the hot light went on as it should. The air is intended to both cool the tip and blow liquid metal out of the slot. That's where you went wrong. I did not LISTEN to ALL of the rest, but I watched the gauge all the way to the end and it never built up. After filming you may have caught that later, but that was a mortal error, so I did not further care what you did. Read instructions. Then proceed with more if necessary. Hope this helps with out pissing anyone off, too easy to do these days... PEACE. PS: I doubt it but I hope you are still alive; I saw lots of dangerous fingers... Yikes!! :)

You're kind of throwing me off here. That machine I thought ran off of 208- 230 but you're calling the black hot and the white neutral? Are you operating it on 110 volt? I know I have an Eastwood welder and it'll burn it up when you're running it on 208-230 but you cannot get it to do half that much off running it on the 110 adapter cord that comes with it and plugging it in a regular house type circuit. The wire you said you replaced look like probably number 12 maybe 10 sjo cord. And that should not carry a 50 amp machine.
@thorloki294 жыл бұрын
You are very patient. I think you've gone way beyond what a paying customer should do. The seller should have reimbursed your payment immediately no questions asked. I am in the market for a plasma cutter and certainly will not buy this brand.
@davemac2225 жыл бұрын
Your problem was likely a blown mosfet transistor. Typical fault on these. The yellow light is really an overcurrent light. When the circuit detects too much input current it shuts the whole thing down to prevent more damage. You then have to turn it off to reset that. The loose capacitor was on the high frequency start and was a secondary fault.

Look folks you get what you pay for. If you pay almost nothing for something even if that something is NEW, expect to have to work on it. I have several machines and tooling equipment purchased from Chinese manufacturers and no they are not the best quality but with a little reengineering and some shoring up in places these devices are ok for what they are. Don't buy a Chinese cheep product and expect to get snap on quality it's never going to happen. Not that snap on is the best or anything but you get my point.

The part that you keep calling “thingy” is a capacitor . It’s imperative that it’s soldered to the underside circuit ribbon . Capacitors are very important In the overall scheme of power supply and consumption for the object as a whole. Almost 100% of the time if a capacitor has failed on a circuit board, said border is defunct . Plus, that seller tricked you into breaking it so they don’t have to cover it.

I have been ordering from Amazon. A few times I’ve gotten the wrong part, didn’t work, or broken in shipment and although it sucks to get held up on a project, I’ve had zero issues getting a return authorization (RMA) online and have been credited back within a few days. No hassle on anything so-far. No discussion of replacement or me trying to fix it. Just return- then credit. No third degree interrogation on what the problem is. You can order another at that point if you like (or if you feel lucky) or order from a different seller. One time I ordered another returned part directly from Amazon (pressure washer pump) and skipped the seller I ordered from the first time. They sent me a pump, basically left handed when I needed a right handed one, I was very careful to get the part number right. The second order (from Amazon) was the correct part which cost $2 more but it came from a warehouse of the original seller. Go figure...While I have been aggravated a couple of times because of the delay, it has worked out ok every time I’ve had a problem.

Pressing the nozzle directly to the surface would blow it as you've done. A (roller guide) would have ensured the cutter was at the right distance from the metal. You've shorted it out by pressing it directly down onto the surface.

You are assuming that it is a pilot arc. And the Cut50 is not that. It requires tip contact to start. Once you've made contact to start the arc you can back up a little bit and keep cutting. But without contact, it will never start a cut.

@@racerguy500 Lol, no, it still requires an arc, that how electric plasma cutting works. The Cut50 requires a pilot arc!

@@DogSerious LMAO. It requires contact to create the arc. I just told you that. A pilot arc throws the arc by itself. A Cut50 does not. Look it up genius.

@@racerguy500 Lol, how can it create an arc if it has direct contact? You don't know much about plasma cutters, do you?
@racerguy500 Жыл бұрын
@@DogSerious obviously you don't know a damn thing about them. There are two types, pilot arc and contact arc. The tip of a Cut50 is not grounded. You have to make contact to create the arc, grounding the tip creates the arc. A pilot arc has a grounded tip which createsv the arc. Educate yourself before you try to sound intelligent.

oooow!,, not some thing you should be poking around inside,, them things can and will bite you if you get near the high current side!,, if I had been you, I would have flatly refused to open the thing up and would have demanded a refund or a replacement item,, the thing that bothers me now is I just ordered one of them from Flea-bay myself!
