If you say to the AI bot in chat "speak to an advisor" or "speak to someone". You can usually just make them get someone to call you straight away

Had a small issue this week, clicked on ''request a call back'' - some chap called me within a minute to help me out.

Soon as you talk to the AI computer ask eBay to call you back and they ask for your number and call you instantly…don’t talk for ever to an automated robot unless your really lonely😂

I will definitely try that next time. I’m sure eBay loses a lot of customers because of this. There is absolutely no way to know how to contact an actual person unless someone outside of eBay tells you. I was just about ready to delete my eBay account because I couldn’t talk to an actual person.

Yes. Some sellers are shady and some buyers are shady. People always find a way.

Recently had a seller sending me an item I'm 100% sure he knew was faulty (7.1 receiver). He placed the lead prongs facing up in the box, 20 kgs amp on top of it (broke/left marks), placed the remote against the front fascia all tight and zero shock protection. One layer of bubble wrap one layer of cardboard, I would not even pack anything like that Box was labelled as a trampoline and nothing else. It got bounced around and arrived smashed up. Seller refunded immediately before I even sent proof. He requested of me to send pictures of box and item so he would claim insurance against DPD for damaging the amp. I left him some atrocious feedback and he asked Ebay to step in. I told Ebay feedback is fully accurate and stays as is, informed them and DPD of this scam attempt. As far as Ebay was concerned, he refunded immediately os case closed. He flipped his lid when the feedback stayed up and called me a moaner, said he was going to put me on his block list - as if I ever wanted to deal with that swindler again...

I have had some very similar things happen. I think mail insurance scams are quite common.

Last I like how when I buy something from eBay and I want to return it they try to say here's the address to send it to I'm like no you need to send me a return shipping label and after offering you 10% off 20% off 30% off etc they finally give you a return shipping label or just refund your money I'm waiting until the 11th for eBay to step in on a $10 scam

Sellers are not "supposed" to do that. I was told to just accept the return. They know the buyers ultimate move is to go to their bank and claim whatever it is they are going to claim. I was actually told this in a message from eBay "customer service". In reality, it is better to just accept the return. Also, sellers know that's a dumb game to play. If eBay has to resolve the issue, you get a defect on your seller account. For Top Rated sellers, this is important. Too many defects and you lose your status or even your account.

They have 3 business days to send a return label, or you can ask ebay for a refund.

@@Manu-Official they of course accepted it today because they don't want eBay to get involved but they haven't sent me a return shipping label I guess I will wait 3 days

I’m a little confused. What would be the point of this? Normally people scam to get money or for a gain? It seems like just they lose shipping supplies?

I paid for a $15 phone case. He sent me a five dollar phone case. It cost significantly more to ship something out of the US, then it cost to ship something to the US. He scammed eBay’s System, so that I would have to pay to ship the item back to him. He knows I’m not going to pay to ship it back because the shipping cost would be significantly more than $15. Most people will not go through the trouble I did to get a hold of eBay. If he does the same thing to hundreds or thousands of people, it adds up to lots of money. It is possible that he genuinely mistakenly sent me the wrong phone case but he still scammed the system so that I would be stuck with a financial loss instead of him.

@@cameronstolhand7149 Ok that makes a lot more sense. I was a little confused. I sell on ebay and when i sell it gives me the option to pay for returns or not. I usually have returns as buyer pay. The wrong item is definitely the concern.
