In a case of INAD they do not even have to match the weight, they can send back an empty envelope, all the same result... All that matters is the tracking shows delivered, also "proof" won't save you, ebay will find in the buyer's favor and that is that.
@wickedninja85995 жыл бұрын
I had a "Not as described" scammer, but since I video record everything I pack and ship and document every step I posted all my proof, and told the buyer that if they send anything other than what I sent them as I photographed and video recorded then I will contact eBay and police. They dropped their case against me and came up with a BS reason for why they dropped it.
@tobyblevins40725 жыл бұрын
That doesn't work on items under $1000 and even if it's over $1000 police usually won't follow up on grand larceny charges if it's under $1000 defantly Nothing is going to happen. Also Ebay will always side with buyer even with video proof.. I shipped $1300 yz 250 engine not long ago and get a msg saying its damaged he explained that the cylinder was scratched up and case was cracked and sent pictures of old case and cylinder. I excepted refund knowing I would get his old engine back so I video taped me walking out to get package and opening it with no interruptions on video.. I open package and it was a cinder block was not the same weight or anything....I mag buyer with no response refused refund and called Ebay they sided with the buyer even with the proof and police would not press charges. Ebay said same thing police said.told me that the video tape dont prove Nothing that I could have tampered with package

I have a classic scam... sold a pair of expensive women’s denim shorts brand new with tags. Sent the item, and when it was delivered I instantly got a return request. Then they sent me a photo of the fly area, which was a hidden 3 button do up, which showed a clean cut made into the denim and the buyer claimed it arrived this way. I got the shorts returned me and it was obvious the buyer had cut into the denim causing the fault. Now I add heaps of photos to my listings and for my own reference I take videos of me inspecting every item before it’s shipped so thus never happens again.

I told him I couldn’t but that i could refund him and relist and he could buy it again under his new address. He did and everything was ok but I just think if I had did that: the shipping to the original address was $25 (which he had paid with original purchase) and the shipping to the new address was $94! Ummm yeah, I would have had to eat the cost difference for the shipping if I had proceeded with the original purchase.

It definitely does - people are more likely to be honest and ask for a return when you have them available (as opposed to making up something false in order to open an item not described case), but I offer 30 day returns on all my items and still encounter some scammers.

What are you doing for eBay scammers that are sellers for G I Joe that are engaged in Joeflation, or try to hike up a price of a figure that have loose legs, and then try to sell it for more than its worth as mint???
@SamsonTV4 жыл бұрын
I'm going to be honest, I haven't heard of this until you just mentioned it, if I understand you correctly you are saying that people are breaking perfectly good action figures and selling the parts for a total price that is more than the cost of a mint figure on eBay? If so that is very disappointing for collectors who want the figures to be preserved I would assume.
@renegadebiker244 жыл бұрын
@@SamsonTV Yep, he had said that in his selling of that figure, it had loose knees and instead of fixing it, he is expecting a collector like me to fix it for more than the figure is worth. I tried to tell him that the figure is worth less than what he is selling it for, but he didn't want to accept it at a lower price. I will cover this experience when I start making more videos on my channel, as soon as I can get my computer up and running in making videos and posting them. You have to be careful with some sellers, especially when it comes to G I Joe action figures, and vehicles and playsets, because of the fact that some people get them out of the garbage, and then try to sell it on eBay for a profit, without either fixing it up, or repairing it, and offer more than that of the actual price.

Why use signature upon delivery for more expensive items? Isn't that only insurance in the case the USPS damaged or lost your item? Has nothing to do with the buyer..
@SamsonTV4 жыл бұрын
Well I am in Australia so USPS may be different, but if you have send an item without signature and it is then stolen/lost/damaged at the buyers address, you will likely not be fully reimbursed for the total cost of the item. Even if it's tracked. Signature on delivery negates this problem. Thanks for watching.

When you sell anything expensive and you are target by a thief or destructive customer. One of two things will happen if you offer free returns and if you don't one thing will happen. For those who don't offer free returns the buyer automatically gets their money back as ebay will rule in their favor. If you offer free returns say you sold a $1500 laptop the buyer said item not as described and sends you back a rock instead. You have two options give the buyer $1500 for his rock or you can give him as low as $750 for it. Ebay show you another option when you are issuing the refund called "issue with the buyer" don't even click it because it's like flipping a rigged coin heads the buyer wins tails you loose. You click it and it says "buyer returns wrong item or empty box" but after speaking with two reps and a supervisor I was informed that Ebay will automatically decide the case in the buyers favor. SO why put that option there if the seller return wrong item or empty box if it will never help the seller? But I have video evidence of me opening the package of what the buyer sent me and the photo of what he posted that he received showing two different items. Sorry ebay don't accept video evidence. But I can file a police report with that video evidence showing male fraud because I had to do it twice as buyer and ebay was the one who sent me to get them which I did and got my money back. The supervisor actually told me that in this case a police or incident report is not applicable because I am the seller and not the buyer. Guys don't sell anything on here that you cannot afford to loose you because the only option you will have is to pay the the buyer to keep your item

@@tobyblevins4072 I lost around $1,000 between July and August related to 3 customer scams. I've had a few $50 attempts in recent months but fared better. I'm in a online selling group and 3 of us lost $2,000 in 6 transactions to the same scammer. He was using 3 different eBay accounts, with 2 neighboring homes. His main eBay, that we know of, was buying 134 items a month for the last year & was 6 years old. We got eBay to finally shut those 3 accounts down and both houses went up for sale, but only one has sold so far and the scammer created a new account and has attempted to hit one guy that he already did a few times before, just the last week or so. eBay's definitely skewed toward buyers, basically aiding criminal activity. I'd like to pay a few of the scammers a visit and beat the crap out of them. Like styes1 said about eBay's buttons too. I've only ever had success typically calling. Unless a package wasn't returned and the buyer never acted like they shipped it back. But when I clicked the button to increase listing limits, it's auto denied, when I clicked to escalate a cut and dry case and have eBay step in, I automatically lost even though the buyer never returned the item. They said they shipped it, but gave no tracking or evidence & I lost. They're so anti seller in a number of ways, it's ridiculous. I want to make it work and need to work from home, but they are always working against sellers, which is unfortunate... and costly, in time and money.

The scammer never returned items to me, he used a fake tracking that was from days before he purchased from me and showed delivered the day he uploaded it to trick eBay into thinking it had been returned. One other guy got a box of used tape in exchange for the item. The scammer targeted $200-$300 items. There's no telling how much he's raked in buying 134 items on avg. a month for years and just 6 purchases = $2,000
