Good stuff Matt. We used to promote at 1% on ebay then they raised the min to 2% so we stopped. We started again, and it definitely makes a difference in sales.... We feel it's worth the 2% as we get more sales across the board, and not every sale is billed the 2% as we are seeing sales from people finding the listing organically, but overall a boost in sales.

Thanks for sharing. I've always used 6-10% promo which of course huts more. I was convinced if I promote something and it sells that ebay would automatically charge me, haha. So thats good to dispell my conspiracy theory.

My experience on Etsy is that it takes tiiiiiiime. Number of listings is important (higher chance of being found by that one customer searching for an item you have). Sometimes I sell an item on Etsy 10 minutes after I listed, and sometimes it takes two years!!!

Your Etsy site might be harder to find because the name isn't the same?
