I think we should move on from the band members related issues. There are other questions like, I) how his music evolved. His melody and pattern in the 60/70s is different from 80s ii) He is now a professor of music, how is the experience? What does he teaches, iii) what are his composition style and practice, iv) a type of juju is now called Obey style, what makes a music obey style? How does it evolved?

KSA & OBEY are accomplished musicians and should not be brought to the fore to start accounting for how and what happened between them and their former band members. It is disconcerting, to say the least. This men have brought glory and pride to Nigerian music at a period where there was no social media. The juju genre was the first to haul the greatest price in word music- Grammy. We need to know how these men did it. As I always say, "where you sit not only indicate where you stand; but also what you see". Commander's report of Segun Awe abusing him as being "ugly" then is incredibly laughable. Agba ti o binu ni Omo re npo. Segun Awe calling anyone, especially Commander "ugly"? That only showed how immature, disrespectful and hot head he was then (he still is, going by the way he comes across in recent interviews) and he clearly didn't look himself in the mirror. In any professional or occupational group one finds himself, it is extremely important to remember the future and plan for it. Blaming your woes on band leaders is untenable . A cue can be drawn from the amiable examples of the 3 pioneering band members from Akiko Area of ONDO State . They obediently and wisely took to Obey's counselling as regards acquiring a piece of land to build a house.

There is no issue with them sharing their experience, regardless of how narrow or one sided a perspective they may be. They are their stories and they deserve to be heard. It's sometimes about the meaning people give to their experiences rather than what they really are. Nonetheless, we want to and should hear them. After all, a leader's perspective is also about the meaning they gave to things.

@ultimateone Even when it is obvious that some of their experiences were fabrications, deliberate lies, clandestine perspective, and sometimes infantile tantrums such as Segun Awe calling a man old enough to be his dad ugly and thousand wire calling his former boss derisive names all in the name of sharing their experience. All of them forming saint and goading audiences into using all sort of expletives on their former employer. Shall we go on.. Despite all their atrocities of stealing ,open pillaging from the bands purses fetish skirmishes within the band members and eventual absconding from the band during foreign trips. I beg to say that these bosses have been very mature enough to have stomached all these shenanigans from these disgruntled lot. What I personally advocated on this thread is that there are better issues waiting to be unravelled regarding all our local genre instead of reducing interviews to beer parlour discussions and scrutinising and schooling old men on why they didn't buy a car for their children when they were in the nursery school, when they can afford it. Respectfully, sir, we need to invite these band leaders and band members to this platform to ask them how they put Nigeria on the world map.

I love and cherish Ebenezer obey music that consists of all old veterans' band boys. But Obey himself is greedy, selfishness and wicked. I personally know Ebenezer Obey's three veterans band boys who died in poverty, they are captain Ogunlade, Bode Akinwowo and Abiodun Koleosho. So, to me, Ebenezer Obey is not qualified to be an evangelist.

From my own personal experience in music, I deduce that Baba Obey drew musical inspiration from other talented musicians ; e.g. EMI YOO GBE OLUWA MI GA and OBLADI OBLADA 2. ORI BA YE MI and Rex Lawson's JOLLY PAPA; 3. ENI RI NKAN HE by Obey and ENI RI NKAN HE by Ambrose Campbell.
