Eberspacher D5 Airtronic poor starting and white smoke. Fixed

My D5 airtronic doesn't start, the Fuses are okay. Where should I look because there's power at the control panel.

Does it go through a start up sequence where you can hear it running but then shuts down after two attempts ? Is any smoke produced ? What type of controller do you have? some have diagnostics and can tell you what is wrong ? Also the fuse for the heater may be separate to the controlle so the controller may still appear to be on even if the 25amp fuse to the heater has blown. This can happen for example if the coils on the glow plug distort with carbon build up.
