Glad he wasn't seriously hurt but it's good to have that video out so that people can see firsthand what can happen. He's young but imagine a 75 yr old hitting the pavement like that.

Glad he’s ok. When I saw him coming down the street before the turn, my first thought was that he was going too fast, but I’m 75 and more conservative. I’d already ruled out this reverse trike due to balance. Like the Meetone so far though and look forward to more of your videos of it.

I am glad Devin is recovering.

It's good that he wasn't hurt that bad. The one time I crashed my bike because the seat wouldn't stay put I wound up breaking a finger since I put my hand out when I fell. I had to replace the stock seat from heybike since the part that lets you angle the seat couldn't support my weight even though Heybike said it could.

Needs much lower center of gravity and significantly wider front tread and better front end geometry. It just looks unstable.
@SAC54Ай бұрын
Exactly my thoughts! The front end wheel base is WAAAAYYY too narrow and with its built-in lean as well...WATCH OUT! Also, on the video it looks like the right front tire just slid underneath as he turned to the right, almost like the steering mechanism did something funky. Failure of the "stop block" maybe? And yeah, definitely would benefit from a "grippier" tread!

I'm glad he's okay and the bikes not into that bad of shape you're just lucky that he didn't sustain worse injuries luckily it's a family member and he won't think about suing you thank God he's okay though

I an never getting on or buying this weird trike. You describing that accident just confirms my hesitancy. 630 did test runs and nobody chose this one.

On a video about a month ago, first intro, I think. You were demoing riding this bike in the parking lot. As you started some turns, noticed you were leaning quite a bit and I wondered, "why is he leaning so much?" Continued turns and u-turns repeated my question. So, maybe refrain from leaning when the wheels do the leaning for you.
@anthonysuarez7416Ай бұрын
Good video! Glad he's OK. Do you think the front end is not wide enough for people w/balance problems? I ride recumbents and they seem like they're almost twice the width as that one and mine are super stable (but maybe it's because I'm also lower to the ground)
@danstenis660Ай бұрын
The reverse tricycle can lean without toppling sideways as long as the center of mass is within the lines between the rear wheel and the front wheel. The taller the rider, the higher the center of mass, and the easier to cross the line between the rear wheel and the front wheel. Thus, taller people can lean less in degrees than shorter people. If the two front wheels are wider or the rear wheel is replaced with two side-by-side wheels, the line between the rear wheel and the front wheel would be pushed more outward and would increase the limit of leaning without toppling sideways. Because the two front wheels are pretty close to each other, the tricycle would benefit by having two rear wheels instead of just one. This would increase the lean capability without widening the wide of the tricycle. Another safety feature to have is "training wheels" on the side so that when the leaning capability is exceeded, the "training wheel" would prevent toppling sideways, but this is akin to having 5 wheels instead of just 3 wheels, and the width is increased. To make this tricycle safer, the leaning limit should be adjustable so that taller people can decrease the leaning limit to prevent toppling over. But the bank of the road is also a factor, and it would take an intelligent software to auto adjust to compensate for the bank of the road. Another possibility is to lower the seating position to increase the leaning capability.

He lost traction on his front wheels, that's why he fell. It was very clear in the video, any bike will likely fall if you lose the front wheel in a corner.

Anyone buying an E-bike needs to be aware that at some time they are going to crash.
@tfranke6011Ай бұрын
If you ride safely, you should be ok. The biggest concern is that cars and trucks aren't aware of people on bikes as much as they should.
@Jen-CelticWarriorАй бұрын
Actually, I think the bike took the hit pretty well, all things considered. Glad Devin is on the mend. Just one of those things. You can even do everything right, and bad things can still happen. Could have been a lot worse. And I’m glad it wasn’t me!😉
@isabelr6292Ай бұрын
I myself would be afraid to ride that trike, it was a small turn when he fell, thank god it was in an area that had no traffic, glad to hear he is recovering well, can you imagine if it was an elderly person?
@YouMatter-UDoАй бұрын
You need to anticipate and turn the wheels to help the bike come back upright. Motorcycles are gyroscopes. Treat them as such.

Or just get the one with the seat over the two rear wheels. It's a lot more stable. And just as much fun.
