If an older person like myself took a fall on a bike like he did I sure I would have broken something. Just makes me want the traditional etrike instead of this version. Thanks for the update.

Seeing this accident convinces me to NEVER get this model ever. If I fell like this, I'd be paralized with a hip fracture - which is what scares me more than anything. In fact seeing this makes me reconsider 630's bikes all together. I can say this - Richard's reviews are very honest and are never bias. I am still lookign for a Trike, but Mooncool is out of stock of hte TK-PRO which has the tensioner issue.

Seems like models like these give riders a false sense of security, it is almost as risky as a normal bike if you have balance issues and more dangerous if you wish to go fast. Would not be surprised if they had a govt mandated recall.

Devon glad you’re healing. Thank you for explaining your training before CCL. I understand the helmet issue. Today I left the house, was past the pool/ clubhouse and realized I had forgotten mine. Returned home and put on. I’ve only had my Lectric trike 10 days, but trying to start with good habits.

I would check out the steering linkage, it is definitely suspect. Needs to be reengineered !

Thank you very much for sharing this video. I hope Devan has a speedy recovery! New to the E bike community; I’ve had my concern with safety on these bikes. Faster, heavier, and potentially more destructive, I respect these roads. With a set of my own challenges, some of them relating to limited eyesight; I have had my own challenges and experiences. Watching and listening to the experiences expressed in this video just reinforces the respect I have for these bikes. Again, all the best for a speedy recovery and keep testing out these bikes.

I grew up without any helmets as a kid. We would jump homemade ramps in shorts no shirt and flip flops. I’m glad he is ok. I’ve had plenty of road rash. When I saw him skid down the road I knew what he was feeling.

So glad that Davon learned from hard lesson and is better for the wear and tear. Saw the fall last week, and the video follow-ups, then this proper accident evaluation. I'm a bit like 'Old Mr. Kent' & his videos in AZ and also own a Lectric XP Trike. I've had my own e-bike mistakes and falls to learn from. What Davon could/should have been wearing for a 'trial' run is elbow + knee pads (like roller skaters), and (deerskin) leather gloves (of course, duh, the helmet). Hip pads (like football players wear) would be much, but for your child perhaps. What I'd like to suggest to you, Richard and family, is (since you KZbin test so many ebike/trike products) perhaps manufacturers would also appreciate a review of safety equipment. BTW, tell Amanda thank you for telling us ebikers about the safety shut-off timers for battery charging found on Amazon.

Thanks for sharing your story, and having the humility (it is a brave thing to have) to do it. I was also touched by the young woman’s empathy with some non gun owners. While I am exactly the sort of person she described who is unfamiliar with handling firearms, I wouldn’t have skipped a beat seeing the firearm come loose, but some people are very sensitive about it. However she did go on about how long she had known him and how responsible he is. This may be true in your relationship, but never, ever, ever assume that everyone else is going to trust a stranger, because I highly doubt that you would, otherwise you wouldn’t feel compelled to protect yourself with a loaded weapon at all times. Not being negative about your choices, but there is some irony in believing the rest of the world should automatically trust your judgement, while you are not able to return the gesture.

That bike looks scary to me. If young Devon can go flying off that bike, I think most anybody else can. I think the company needs to rethink the design. I’m so glad that he is generally OK. That could’ve been pretty bad. About the concealed carry. Wow, the way that Devon said that he carries all the time with such emotion and conviction makes me think you must live in a very dangerous area. I think I would rethink where I live -and move. Seriously. I can’t imagine living somewhere where I would feel like I absolutely had to carry a weapon every time I left my house. This isn’t coming from an anti-gun place. I’m fine with sane well trained people like Devon carrying guns. I just think it’s sad that a seemingly nice, safe appearing area like it looks like you live in can be so dangerous in reality.

I'm glad he is doing ok. Thank you for your service to your community. We ordered the TK1 fat tire trike for my wife for Christmas and hoping we don't run into to much trouble putting it together. I meant to order the folding trike but I'm kind of glad now watching your videos on the problems you are having with yours now. What size seat suspension tube do I need for the TK1 fat tire trike ? Would you know by chance. Thanks for your reviews

Good video! Glad he's OK. I live on the West Coast and I always resist the temptation to ride a motorcycle or ebike with shorts and/or without a helmet on, no matter how nice it is outside

Bike let’s you lean too far from center. Needs work to make it safer. I hated seat belts , but I learned to use them without thinking. Same today for my helmet.

A lot of comments on the CCW. In an event like Devon had, the holster did pretty good IMO. That was a hard multiple impact event that could have dislodged it even from a level 2. Many of us carry but you can not predict events like this. It is too easy to judge an event from our easy chair and not know all the facts of how and where it was carried on his person. If we all tried to address all the what ifs of a situation, we would never leave the house.

Great reason for keeping the Class 2 speed cut-out on trikes eventough they seem too slow. Glad Devon was able to roll with this incident.

also it looks like he panicked and stuck his right foot out before trying to brake and slow down. i know it was split second decision. but i guess it was a learning experience. glad he's ok.

Tires are meant for off-road with all the nubs. Not enough surface area for street traction and the lean he was in. It simply lost traction and came out from under him.

All trikes have limited handling. Either they want to drift, or flip. That one does open the inside wheel angle with leaning. It could have drifted if the surface wasn’t so grippy. He was very close to hit his head. That could have had much more serious consequences.

Using an off road tire on the street is a mistake. Knobby tires are the worst on asphalt and you can see that they have little grip when pushed hard. You can see that the front pushed wide and lost grip. If it had a motorcycle street/road tire, this would have never happened. It's not the bike, it's the tires. I also carry a firearm everyday and have for decades, no big deal and glad to see your OK.
