To turn on the KT-LCD display, first turn on your battery then press the middle function button for 3 seconds. This brings up the first of 3 information displays about showing information about your ebike, such as battery levels, trip distance, temperature, cruise function, lights, brakes, motor temperature, error codes and more. To scroll through the 3 displays, press the middle function button briefly and it will change from display to display.
To control the general project settings hold down the up and down arrow keys for 3 seconds. This will bring you to your first settings. Here you can control maximum speed, wheel size, (very important), mph vs km, and temperature settings. To change the settings use the up and down arrow keys, when your selection appear press the middle function button It will save your settings and allow you to scroll to the next settings. When you are done making your selections hold down the up and down arrow keys for 3 seconds. This will bring you to the Parameter settings menu, where you will see a blinking P1 at the bottom of your screen.
P1 controls your motor characteristic parameters. You will want to check with your manufacturer for the correct settings for your motor.
Press the middle button to scroll to P2.
P2 controls wheel speed pulse signal. Again if you don't know consult your manufacturer.
P3 Sets your pedal assist function. The settings are 0 through 5. When set to 0 the
throttle is dependent on the PAS Gear Ratio. When set to 5 the throttle
will provide the most power.
P4 Sets the Throttle Start-Up Setting. This is an important one. When set to 1 the throttle will only activate the motor after the motor has been activated via pedaling.
When set to 0 the throttle activate the motor when triggered
P 5 is your Power Monitoring Setting. Again this is important. If the setting isn't correct you won't be able to determine how much you have left in your battery. There are settings for 24v, 36v and 48v. If you don't know the correct settings, set this to 0 for real-time voltage mode.
When done with these 5 settings press the up and down arrow keys to move to the C Parameter settings.
C1 is your Throttle Start-Up Setting. Check your manual for your preferred settings

Cheers mate! You helped fix my battery problem. The battery was full, but the monitor was reading an empty. It did show the bars and they was draining, but overtime, it was draining just too fast. I was able to see the temperature for the controller as well! So i'm set and able to read it!

what you are missing is the fact, that when you press up and down 10 seconds after turning display on, it will bring you to maximum speed settings. If you press it for example 1 minute after turning on display - it will not bring you to those settings, but will allow you to reset distance since the last reset.

Hi I changed the old damaged BLDC controller with the new one (KT-48ZWSRL) I also had the 6 wires for the Hall sensor, didn’t connect the white one. If I go in „walk“ mode (long press of down button) the motor is rotating but if I use throttle nothing is happening. Some advice?

I have NCM Milano with Das Kit controller in U.K. if I sop in high gear starting is near impossible as there is no throttle (UK law). In walk mode the power is maximum but speed is limited to 3 mph. Is it possible to reprogrammed to a higher speed so that I can get started and change down gear?

I have a KT-LCD display and I have a 48V battery that is suppose to show up to 58.8V but the battery only shows 53.6V fully charged and it cuts out at 33.6V. The P5 on the settings was set at 12, and I understand that is suppose to be for a 36V battery system. It is really suppose to be set at 15, for a 48V Battery system or "0". Are you suppose to change the C10 setting to "Yes" to make changes on the display?

Did you find any answers? This depends a bit on your battery chemistry and if your batteries are working as they should. I have blown 2 cells in my lipo packs due to 1st time a bad balance connector and 2nd time vibrations and rubbing on the bike. After this the cells can go dead short so the other cells do not see them just as if there was only a straight wire there. Then if you charge without balancing or without checking you are getting a balance voltage on all of the cells you can be overcharging the other cells as the blown battery cell is no longer there to absorb it's share of the voltage. Then you end up with a battery pack that is 3.6V lower for each blown cell also you will be damaging the pack and risking a fire each time you try to charge. This can confuse the controller.

your battery is 48v means 13sX3.7. So the max voltage you can get is around 13sx4.2=54.6. You lcd shows it correctly

Is there a way to increase the LCD timeout settings? I believe the current default is 5 minutes. Wipes out your trip statistics if you have to stop for longer than 5 minutes. Thanks!

no there is no way to change timeout settings, the best way you can calculate your total distance for a single trip is to write it down every time you stop then add them together for your total

I have a question, i buyed a 36v 500w Hub motor, and the controller doesn´t have a connection to a LCD panel so i can control the level of the power of the motor. Do you know a solution to have it incorporated somewhere? The reason, is that the PAS always goes to full power on the motor, and sometimes i don´t need that, i need just a smooth assistance of the motor.

Hey Alexandre, You would have to buy a new controller that comes with an LCD or LED that will work with your 500w motor. The good news is that if you match the voltage and the wattage for your motor, there are plenty of great options under $60 that will really help you out and allow for PAS. Gaspard COTTIN about the the temperature you need to check the sensor, also the error 6 sometimes depend of the sensor. Try to disconnect the Throttle or other stuff one be one and check if you have other error.

Informative video thanks - Is there any way of changing the wattage that is applied with each PAS level - if that makes sense - for example my PAS level 1 applies 50-120w of power, PAS2 120-220w, PAS3 220-350w, PAS4 350-420w and PAS5 420-520w - my motor was a 350w but it failed, I now I have a 250w and I am a bit concerned that PAS5 will decrease it life span as the other one failed after 14 months.

If I had a manual to check I wouldn't need to find the info on KZbin So while I don't expect you to explain stuff like sine wave settings there are others that you just skipped over so I don't even know what questions to ask about my battery or motors or controller if I had the opportunity . This is critical for making a purchasing decision. (05:05) If the motor manufacturer doesn't respond to inquiries (almost ALL of them will NOT respond to user emails) but you know the electrical specifications of the motor (watts, amps, etc), are the P1 settings obvious and we can still program the unit? OR...does it require knowing proprietary manufacturer codes to set for given motor electrical specification values and we're out of luck when manufacturers don't respond? (e.g. for 750W motor enter "3", for 1000W motor enter "5" and so on). If it requires entering codes, rather than actual specification data, is there documentation anywhere that translates motor electrical specifications to the required codes?

The controller will use the same current. Why are you trying to limit the Watts? To protect your motor? You can restrict the Current output of the controller using the C5 parameter, which will restrict the Watts in a similar fashion. Setting C5 to 10 will divide the Max Current by 1.10. Setting to 8 will divide by 1.15, 7 by 1.2, 6 by 1.25, 5 by 1.33, 4 by 1.5 and 3 by 2.0.

Is anyone active in here anymore! I need help with my bike. I have a 1700w bike with a 17.5ah 48v battery and bought a spare battery that is 17ah 48v. When I place my spare battery in it dies in power 5 setting or above 1300w. Is this battery sag my guy told me the controller or original battery is set to 40amp and most batteries only handle 30amp what settings can I change I tried C5 to 8 and C12 to 2 but still happens. Hi. I have the KT60SVPRK-SLS02G controller. I am trying to find out how to modify the settings. Specifically if i can change the low cut off voltage to suit my lipo battery pack. Also i would like to know if the auto voltage detection works well and if there are any tricks when connecting. I want to be able to use two different battery configurations with the controller. 16s lipo (nominal 3.7V max 4.2V) i then want to be able to make the same battery pack into an 8s 2P (or just 8s: no P:). This way i can use the bike for either high speed on the road or low speed high power for climbing off road mountains. Ps. can this controller charge the battery via regen?

On the controller it says it is a 60V (i'm guessing nominal which is around 16s lipo) 45A low voltage cut is 50V. Display is the KT-LCD6

typically KTLCD3 and KTLCD8 work the same on KT controllers, LCD8 is better though, it has a full color display and is able to show you all the settings at once

60v is the limit your controller can handle BUT do not buy a 60v battery as you will burn your controller, buy a 52v battery, a 52v battery at full charge is about 58v

Directly from the manual: After power on for 5 seconds, hold up and down arrows at the same time, single trip riding time (TM) and single trip distance (DST) flash, hold power button shortly, the content of both is cleared. If failed holding the power button within 5 seconds, it will automatically return the display interface after 5 seconds, original content is preserved.

The battery will drive the motor, no problem. The problem is your controller. Make sure your controller can handle the extra voltage. Many times controllers are designed to handle more power, but some of the cheaper ones will burn out. So check your specs

if it is asking for a pin the LCD may have a password enabled, unfortunately there is no easy way to bypass the password without buying a new LCD, you can try to unlock it but its easiest to just get a new one

i'm supersized they don't have a security setting. go in the store you set a password and the bike goes in major re gen mode cant be ridden . major battery charge till a pass word is entered.

Don't EVER put a password on your LCD. If you forget the password, your LCD is now complete junk. There is NO WAY to reset your password on these LCD's.

My display stops showing mph when I'm coasting. Is this correct, or might it be defective? Seems to me it is essential to know your downhill speed. Also, this might be the reason that my mileage is wrong, I go further than it indicates even though I have the correct wheel diameter setting.

IT should show your speed at all times. The motor/wheel is connected to your controller and your controller is connected to your LCD. It is important to program the correct wheel size, but that will have no bearing on that issue. I have checked the Kt-LCD3 against my Garmin GPS computer and the difference in mileage has never been off more than 2/10th of a mile. Maybe something is wrong with your LCD. If you decide to replace it, think about upgrading to the SW-900. The Kt-LCD3 was introduced as a 24v/36v controller while the SW-900 was introduced for 48v. Good Luck.

When I fitted my new lcd display and controller I followed the parameters settings that the supplier sent but I could not get the motor to run. I went into a pedalec forum and was recommended to set no2 in p parameters to either 5 6 7, which worked perfectly.

It doesn't have a setting for 52v, but you can run a 52v battery with this, however you may not get a fully accurate reading of your batteries capacity.

The AHs determines your range. The higher the AH the greater your range.

As you turn the monitor on 5 seconds in, hold the up and down buttons and then it'll display your max speed you want, Just accept that and hit the power key. After that, it should hopefully show you if you want the imperials in C or F, as well as Miles, or Kilometers. Just choose the up and down arrows for which one you want. Then just hit the power key and you should be set! It should be a F instead of a C as well as Miles instead of Kilometers hopefully! Hoped this helped!
