Here is a look at how to program your Display.
If you have a KT Controller, which is one of the most common in the ebike world, then you probably have seen these displays. They have a host of different parameters that can be programmed right from the display.
Cheat Sheet is at the beginning and end of the video but here are the parameters;
P SETTINGS
P1 = Magnets
P2 = speed sensor pulses per revolution (6 for Bafang , 1 for most)
P3 = 0 throttle is limited by gears, if 1 throttle is always full power available
P4 = 0 throttle always works, 1 throttle works only when pedalling
P5 = Battery Display - 36V = 12 , 48V = 15 , 52V = 22 , 0 for real-time voltage
C SETTINGS
C1 = 2 for Basic, 7 for Splined (KT-V12L) / 2pc Disc (KT-D12L)
C2 = Generally set to 0 (Motor phase)
C3 = Pedal Assist Level when you first turn on the bike
0 = defaults at 0
1 = defaults to 1, etc
8 = defaults to last setting before power down
C4 = 0 Throttle always working
1 Throttle by itself only 6km/hr
C5 = Current Control 10 for highest, 3 for lowest, 0 for soft start
C6 = Backlight adjustment
C7 = Cruise Control 0 is off, 1 is on, works by holding Up
C8 = Motor Temperature (if available)
C9 = Password
C10 = Return to defaults
C11 = Communication Protocol (restoring another display)
C12 = Low Voltage Cutoff (default 4) lower the number, lower the voltage cutoff
C13 = Regenerative Braking 0-5
C14 = Pedal Assist Overall Multiplier

Hello! Im in desperate need of help. I purchased a KT controller that is 48v 45amps. The problem im currently having is that. When i lift up the bike and MAX THROTTLE. It spins fast and fine But where theres WEIGHT added like if im sitting on the bike. The controller cuts the power to my hub motor but the system stays on still. Im not sure how to fix this

There are quite a number of different aftermarket displays advertised, including the one your teaching how to program. What must I take into consideration when I am trying to get 3-4 miles an hour more on the top speed from a Magicycle Ocelot vs. a Himiway Cruiser?

Speed limit would be the main one , your bike could be governed. This will only apply to the KT Brand of LCD Displays

I'd think the 1kw main ones are P1 is 87 P2 is 1 . But I actually haven't tested on that motor quite yet !

Hello thanks for the video its very informative i seem have changed the setting for voltage to 12 for my 36v buts its not registering after accepting the setting to 12 seems the battery indicater is still saying battery empty buts the battery is at 41v any thing I should try

Yes try spinning the wheel in the air with the throttle for like 10 seconds and it should reset

i tried that kt3 with my e-scooter controller, it drives much better now but it does not show driving speed anymore. Also i tried the other communication protocols and checked the hall sensor wires and everything is okay. has anyone an idea how to fix that?

Try changing around the P2 Value , for a geared motor start with 1 , for a direct drive try 0 . Direct Drive is always 0 , but geared motors can vary between 1 and 6. Give that a try!

LCD81F how do you put the speed on every pass, like pass 1 it use 20% batt, pas 2 40% pas 3 60% pass 4 80% 5 100% ??? i can not find it anymoreq, i can not get into that mode again, can you help me ?

Yeah I'd like to have a max speed for each level, instead it just changes the amount of watts which isn't good for hill climbing. Can't figure it out so I just have to engage the throttle for now.

I don't believe so , the controllers themselves CAN be programmed from a computer but it's only if you hack into the system (google open-source kt controller endless sphere). Otherwise it is directly through the LCD

I have the tk lcd3u, bought with the bike at the sport shop and I cannot enter the settings you mentioned at the start of the video (the one with pressing both buttons within 5 seconds), I can only reset kilometers I made. What am I doing wrong?

Have to turn on display and enter menu immediately. If you wait over 10 seconds it will only reset trip meter

Hi, folks.. I'm in troubles.. I did adjustments like showed in this video, but display doesn't show speed.. I tried on 2 different e-bikes, one of them with direct drive motor and another with geared motor. First time I plugged display on bike with geared motor, I have speed working fine. First time I plugged the display LCD3 of the bike with geared motor on the one with direct drive motor, it also showed speed. This means speed sensor and data/communication display cables are working fine on both. But, after configurations, 2 displays (LCD3 and LCD5) stops showing speed on first screen.. Any ideas?

P2 value usually needs to be 0 with direct drive and 1 or 6 with geared. If you set to 0 you should always get a speed value

That very first parameter you can change the speed limit

@@Or.H22 Maybe it is locked , there's not really an easy way to limit the speed if that is locked. You can try lowering the power level so that it can't reach a high top speed ? (C5 parameter = 3 is lowest setting)

@@Or.H22 Some of them are unfortunately locked from the factory. It MAY be possible to get another LCD display that isn't locked but I can't confirm for sure

There are a lot of companies that factory order their LCDs and they lock several of the commands

You will likely have to reprogram a few things but nothing that should take more than 5 minutes
