Wish we had dealers here. There's one acoustic bike shop here, but that's it. Had to learn fast how to fix things myself lol.

My gosh, I feel so homesick now. I used to bike the towpath when it was only 50 miles long. I left in 2004 and currently live east of Portland OR. There is a path here, but it's nothing compared to the towpath. I miss the people, too, that used the path where courtesy and greetings were the norm. No one seems to know the passing rules-of-the-road here.

@@lauribleu7558 yes, manners seem to be lost on the youth of today. Thanks for watching and I won’t hold it against you living in Portland😂 kidding…

Hi Laurie, I map quest towpath trail and nothing came up. I live downtown Portland and looking for new trails to ride besides around the river.

@@SL33P-WALK3R The towpath is in OH. It starts in Cleveland and apparently now runs all the way to Cincinatti, well over 200 miles. Back in my day it was only about 50 miles but still expanding southward. It's a wonderful path that runs along the old canal and features a working lock and museum close to Cleveland. There is also a working railroad with a steam engine that runs along it and can be used to transport your bike. The Springwater Trail, which runs be where I live in Gresham is a sad thing in comparison. I'm afraid I haven't explored it much going west, these days because of the homeless that camp out that way. I dislike venturing that way alone. So right now I use it to go out to Boring. maybe when I get more confidant, I explore further trails.

@lauribleu7558 the correct name is Ohio to Erie Trail
@lauribleu75584 ай бұрын
@@Ebiketips1 LOL. Locally, we knew it as simply the Towpath, but, yes, that sounds about right. The Towpath isn't incorrect: Ohio to Erie Trail is simply the official name. It's like saying I live in the US instead of the United States of America, which separates us from the rest of the Americas. Glad you were able to find it on the map. Towpath wouldn't have been enough to do that. Thanks for the information.

Great video Jerry... I was just down in Akron last week and stopped at Outspoken. She also told us about their shop in Cleveland, which I physically haven't been to yet. So thanks to your video, I have now been at both of their locations. 👍👍
