Mini luxury area, Daikanyama tour. Used to live not too far from there. Convenient. A little expensive. Nice to walk around and go to cafes if that is in the budget and someone’s thing..

Visited Ebisu previously. Had a great time at the Yebisu Beer Museum. 🍻 the streets do feel less grid like.

We used to stay at the Westin in Ebisu all the time! Back in the day (early 2000s) there were some great luxury brand secondhand stores with interesting finds... not chain stores, just small, local ones! In The beginning of your stream there was a building all covered, being renovated. From memory, the main branch of Evisu Jeans in Tokyo used to be there. They had some fantastic denim stuff!

It still astounds me that no matter where you go in Japan you literally see no garbage or trash on the streets. It’s so clean. They really respect their country and I wish Americans were the same way.

If it wasn’t for the local Konbinis and shrines. I’d swear I was walking back in Ibiza. The small cafes, glass doors, hills, and building architecture. Are like you said “very European”

This area of Shibuya and Setagaya-ku from Hiroo & Roppongi to Jiyugaoka is a lot like this. Quite different to Shitamachi!

@@onlyinjapanGO wow! I have a lot of exploring to do lol.

Another cool thing about those Sun Vending machines is that they usually have cold bottles of Soba (buckwheat) tea, which is not so easy to find in the Tokyo area!

Good point! They have some unique things - I’ll go scope it out this weekend.

Are these winding roads more confusing then european roads? or would europeans not get disorientated that fast here?

I would like to suggest you do more than Tokyo videos so much. Seems like 19 out of 20 videos are Tokyo this or Tokyo that. I was in stationed in Japan for 7 years and there is so much more to love about Japan than Tokyo and Kyoto. I like watching you visit a few old train stations in the country years ago or other out of the way places. Just a suggestion as the site is ONLY in JAPAN and not ONLY in TOKYO.

John lives in Tokyo but has done plenty of streams and videos when he travels around the country. You can go back in his library and see lots of videos from around Japan on this channel and on his other channel ONLY in JAPAN * John Daub.

I live in Tokyo. When I travel, you go with me. I’m not traveling now. I do more non-Tokyo videos than you realize. There are over 1000 videos on this channel. You can go to over 40 of the 47 prefectures on this channel. Thanks for the encouragement :) I’m sure to leave Tokyo again soon but I’m focused on helping people and will do what I can.

@@onlyinjapanGO I understand, I know you got a family and most likely some other commitments and they ALWAYS come first. I did not mean to say the Tokyo videos are wrong or such either. Also I do really enjoy going back in time and watching the other videos you did. Just take care and be safe in the coming year of the snake. A suggestion if I can give one is as there are 43 prefectures, two urban prefectures, one regional, and one metropolis so why not "Try" and go to say 1/2 of the others each year even if for just a day or two then you will do a total Japan tour every 2 years. That will still let you be in the Tokyo region exclusively for over 1/2+ each year. I myself would be willing to contribute to you $$ wise as I am sure others would also towards a fund offsetting the travel costs just to see out of the way temples, or shrines, or local items worth visiting like special train stations or parks.
