A lot of this advice applies universally, not only in Japan. I would just say, avoid the dating apps and club scene, and try to meet people the old fashioned way, especially by being introduced by other friends and colleagues. Introductions carry a lot of weight in Japan & other Asian cultures.

In Japan 🇯🇵, they have this term called “goukon” which is group dating. Cause Japan is a team society. Also, 50/50 is common on the first date in Japan cause you’re thinking about the other person from a woman’s perspective. Exactly, in my experience finding a good/serious person in a bar or a club is like one in a thousand. Usually it's someone who doesn't go to bars/clubs but their friends convinced them to go just that one time. You'll have an easier time through hobbies, social circles, events etc. and those will also give you similar interests and excuses to meet again to kick off the relationship.

Biggest shock for me as a foreigner living in Japan is that women generally don’t know how to kiss and interact physically. It’s very very weird the way they do it. They also do a lot of tatemae, and when you get to see their real personality could be a very scary moment. Another thing is that they need to plan every little detail for the date.

Yeah, it's true. Some of the women I've been with here seem to have little experience with kissing. For example, I've been seeing this older woman (45) (me: 41), and she's not good at kissing. But when we first had sex, she told me it had been 6-7 years since the last time she had done it, and also, she seemed to have very little experience with sex as well. But it's also really good, like some of the best I've ever had, so I don't mind if she's not great at kissing 😅 The women I have been with in Japan that are good at kissing likely had other foreign boyfriends or lived abroad and had lots of experience with dating/hooking up is my guess.

I have no issues with dating here in Japan personally. I have slowly built up a " radar " where I can typically tell whether or not a Japanese girl likes foreigners. Just by the way they dress, walk, speak, eye contact, what area they live in, and who they hang out with. And if she’s into black guys then it’s most likely just a sexual thing for her, it will almost never be serious. Or she wants to be able to say she has black foreign friends, which I have also seen. And if she says she's exclusively into black guys because Japanese and white guys are " boring " then she is usually MUCH more social and wild than the average Japanese girl because it takes a different type of girl to be that into black guys in my opinion. Lmao (no, that's not racist to say) Maybe she's consumed too much rap and western media. LOL Also, the more English she knows, the better, that's a green flag. It says a lot about her if she took the time to learn some English, most Japanese don't learn it at all statistically speaking. But I usually get the " serious " dating pass since I’m half black/Mexican thus light skin though. Speaking Japanese also helps. But honestly, if you speak Japanese, understand Japanese social culture (it's tough but you'll get there after enough time and conscious thought) and have decent looks along with a decent personality you should have no problem regardless of who you are. When studying in Japan, a teacher at the school wanted to date me. It ended with us getting married and her moving to my country. After our second child was born she suddenly wanted to move back to Japan without me, and the things she's done to get sole custody of the children have put me through sheer hell. Japanese women are very good at putting on an act, so be very careful about dating in Japan, and don't rush into any serious commitment!

I hate to say this, but, the majority of white/black/hispanic women, are not interested in dating Asian men(this also includes south Asians like indians) The only exception to this rule is Korean men due to the sky rocketing popularity of kdrama and kpop. And even then thats still just maybe less than 5% of white women that interested in this korean culture

I'm not 6' (5'10"~11"ish / around 179-180cm), but I am a white guy with blue eyes from America. I've had some luck with dating here in Japan, but I'm not the best looking guy, and I just turned 41, so it's not so easy to date, especially cute, young women. Most of the women I've been with here have been older, or divorced with kids, or average-looking women, things like that. I have had a little bit of luck with younger women like a 24 y/o, two 29 y/o, and even an 18 y/o once, but the majority of women I meet or go on dates with are 35-55, but that's likely due to my age and not being an ikemen like Japanese women want. But I've had a lot of fun with older women as well, so I don't mind it, I just wish I could date some of the cute, younger women as well sometimes.

But what most dont know is, specifically Asian girls(East Asian) will go to extra lengths to achieve youth and beauty, they will completely omit sugar from their diet, they believe it speeds up the aging process and ofc, weight gain. They also make sure they get enough sleep, and avoid sunlight, to maintain their light skin tone. The average american girl for example, would not do any of these things.

The German guy and the Austrian guy’s clips are most likely taken from a longer interview where they covered many subjects, which is why they seem to be “returning characters.” The German man was featured in a recent video about foreigners who speak fluent Japanese, but he was wearing the same sweater, and it was on the same street as the one featured here in this video. The Austrian man was previously featured in a video from a little while back on the topic of being Japanese raised in a foreign country (or something along those lines). The interview in this video seems to be pulled from the older video, since he was wearing the same outfit in the same location as well. From what I understand, Takashii doesn’t just stop random people off the street. I believe he arranges many of these interviews ahead of time, especially when it comes to very specific topics dealing with foreigners and such.
