Mr BBI, your history/spoken word series is easily the most important work in radio. I love watching you build, your work is beautiful and videos informational, but this history is so important. Thank you for making these videos.

Great video, BBI. Back in the late 60s, early 70s my first and only base station was a 5 watt Radio Shack walkie talkie attached to a ground plane, which I snuck up on the roof of my parents' home. We lived on a hill and I was able to talk to most everybody. Good times!

Oh wow! My first cb was a 6 channel crystal controlled, push-button radio I bought from our local Heathkit store.. I think it was a Lafayette as well!!! It was around 1972 or 3 and I ran that radio into the ground. Good times. Great interview. I miss those old days.. its not quite the same these days. 73 179 NorCal

Ebony King is the same now on the radio as he is on your interview he's a unique. And a professional operator and very respected thank you BBI.

I read a lot of positive things, but let's not forget that he claims the entire channel along with the other Super Bowl fanatics. In the Netherlands I can't use channel 6 because of the constant shouting from Ebony King and his eccentric friends. We must therefore ask ourselves whether it is acceptable for someone from the US to monopolize a channel worldwide. Just think about that.

It’s great that so many people find him inspiring, and I can understand the admiration. But is it really "humble" to occupy an entire channel worldwide, leaving no room for other voices or perspectives? It’s worth questioning whether such dominance is truly in the spirit of humility. Just something to consider as we celebrate his contributions.

Well, that was really awesome,, I really enjoyed that video/Interview…. It took me back away A good long ways. That was good stuff I enjoyed that Mr. BBI.. I’ve been out here since 1983- And I have always been a mud duck swimming in the mud,,,lol Like you,, It’s just been the last decade maybe 12 years that I have had the desire to step it up… With the great help of KZbin,,, I have been able to do just that… And I have never enjoyed the hobby more than I do now,,,,,, And now thanks to you repairing my equipment….. Coming up soon…. I will get to enjoy the hobby, even more…. I build my own antennas and I enjoy doing that a great deal….. I am currently in the process of building an antenna that will be able to hear a mouse Fart in New Jersey,,,,, Helping me not get bored when I’m on the radio for more than an hour.lol. I enjoy being able to hear those mud ducks in their pick up trucks in Tennessee/Carolinas/Georgia/Etc. That brings me a lot of joy by bringing them joy in the hobby. Which I hope motivate them someday…. and stay in the hobby because someone like me heard them in Colorado and they only had a 23 Watt Radio…. Lots of fun Keep doing what you do Mr. And everyone else out there happy Thanksgiving….. 73s

This is awesome Mr BBI. One of the CB radio people that I admired a little bit was 4040 On the west side, out around the dock of the bay. I think he might have been in San Carlos maybe just south of Redwood City. But 4040 used to promote good etiquette, good radios good sound. He's past quite a few years ago now. RIP 4040 and RIP Number 5, 257 I miss you sir, number seven You're not forgotten either, and the rest of my crew from channel 14 back in the day "Bluetick hound" my mentor and Rude Dog/Betty Crocker and myself in the South Bay area. Honorary mentioned to triple zero and I think he was over around North San Jose. As well as iron Man down in South San Jose. None of us were running more than a thousand watts probably and most no more than really 300 typically. Number five used to go up on skyline boulevard with 1200 watts and I could hear him pretty clear all across the Northern part of the state even though his signal might be smaller in some places it was still audible. I heard him 160 mi away and in a ditch and he was a still a solid bar on my Midland powermax with his standard audio he he he! No doubt! For me my old days were the early '90s, though I was a little bit on the radio in the '80s but only getting a taste and it wasn't until the '90s for I actually took a bite and by the mid-90s I was fully swallowed into CB radio as life. CB radio is still a big part of my life even though I don't really talk on it much and that will hopefully change soon like get my 667v connected to my 200Ah lithium iron phosphate and put the full whip back on the van. No it's not the biggest station but it does work Like I'm literally happy with like a hundred or 200 Watts but having a 667 or a KL 503 just gives me a sense of that I have those 200 watts and a bit more if I need it. I love to hear from anybody from the South Frisco Bay California from back in the '90s. I transmitted in the Bay area from 1991 to 2007 with my big mouth getting bigger. Chopping lips is fun!😮😂❤

I sometimes wonder if they’re actually having a real conversation on the Super Bowl Channel. It feels more like digital audiophile graffiti-there’s no real exchange of information, just a lot of shouting and one-liners.

Another classic. History for the records! Don't forget that it's not just that certain things like gas get more expensive but money looses it's value. However people still have similar wealth. Many people are broke but many also have more stuff and nicer stuff than 50 years ago, people travel more and just do more things in general. On the other hand less women worked back then, there were many middle class house wifes, not that that's not work but it doesn't bring in any extra money. Now more or less most women are working unless on maternity. It seems money is worth less and people work more. Fuel does feel too expensive to me though.

While I see a lot of positive feedback, let's not overlook the fact that he essentially dominates the entire channel alongside his group of Super Bowl enthusiasts. Here in the Netherlands, channel 6 is practically unusable due to the incessant shouting from Ebony King and his over-the-top crew. This raises an important question: is it really acceptable for someone from the US to monopolize a channel that’s meant to be accessible worldwide? Something worth reflecting on, don’t you think?

Hello Fellow Amphaulics, Friends, And Supporters Of The World Renowned BBI AMPS: Thank you Luke for the trip back in the history of CB RADIO. Yes I got started back in the mid 60's before the explosion & craziness but the ride for me was very tough. No I will never have a monster station nor do I want one but I just want to be remembered as the gentleman operator that helped people along their individual paths. God Bless all, Happy Thanksgiving, and stay safe. TMP, Unit 22 from N.J.
