As a librarian, THANK YOU for encouraging people to use the library. So many people don't know that you can recommend purchases and libraries (depending on budgets obvi) will almost always make the purchase! It's especially important now as many libraries are looking to expand their ebook collection. I would also encourage everyone to look to see if their library is doing physical book drop offs/pick ups/delivery. Several libraries in my area are doing a version of this to get physical books out to people.

We are going to be moving to phase 2 next week with some places opening, so I’ll see how that goes! Also I just got on Hoopla today from the comments! So far loving it! Thank you for talking about libraries and getting books for free! I feel like there’s such a push in the book community to be buying new books all the time and as a student I really can’t afford to do that. Thank you for sharing how you use these apps for your own reading 💗

Yeah it’s hard. Thank you for that comment. As a kid, if I didn’t have the library I would have NO ACESS to books. Books should be accessible. Also I just was raised on the library (for so many things outside of just books) so it’s literally inbedded in me. Will always be my first stop. 💯

Thank you for talking about how to use your library digitally, I work in a library and this time has been hard for us so it's so good to hear people encouraging people to use the library and in hearing you talk about you working to ensure diversity in library selections. Awesome, good to know! I think I'll make a pivot towards lesser known authors so that I don't get stuck in these lines. My library also has CloudLibrary! I don’t like the interface as much as Libby (my love 😍) but it pretty much always has new releases and at most like 2 weeks. (I just put the Clap When You Land audiobook on hold and I’ll get it in 12 days. On Libby the wait was like 5 months) Also, this might be a little shady but get a library card for anywhere you’ve lived! I have a library card from my parents’ house and the city that I live in now. Libby allows you to flip back and forth between the cards really easily and it gives you a way bigger selection!! Never live somewhere without getting a library card. Lol
